‘She Didn’t Know The Camera Was Back!’: Channel 5 Presenter Sparks Online Debate After Eye-Roll Is Caught Live Following Bonnie Tyler Death Announcement

Channel 5 News presenter Dani Sinha has gone viral after viewers spotted what appeared to be a frustrated eye-roll moments after announcing the death of music icon Bonnie Tyler during a live broadcast.

The experienced broadcaster, who has worked for Channel 5 for more than a decade, delivered the heartbreaking news that Bonnie Tyler had died unexpectedly at the age of 75.

However, the bulletin was not without its problems.

While introducing the segment, Dani accidentally misnamed Bonnie’s signature hit Total Eclipse Of The Heart, referring to it as “Total Of Eclipse” as she stumbled over her words.

The programme then played a short clip from Bonnie’s famous 1983 music video. But when the broadcast returned to the studio, Dani appeared visibly frustrated and rolled her eyes, seemingly unaware that the cameras had already switched back to her.

The moment quickly spread across social media, where viewers offered differing explanations for her reaction.

Some believed the presenter was struggling with technical issues behind the scenes.

One viewer wrote: “She’s reacting to shambolic tech support.”

Another suggested: “She was probably let down by the autocue or the instructions coming through her earpiece and was frustrated with the technical problems.”

Others believed the eye-roll was directed at her own mistake.

“The eye roll was 99.9% because she knew she’d messed up the song title,” one person commented.

Another viewer offered a different interpretation, writing: “Is she not reacting to the clip where Bonnie is singing ‘now I’m only falling apart’… which isn’t exactly what you’d want playing while announcing someone’s death?”

Channel 5 had not publicly commented on the incident at the time of writing after being approached for a response.

Earlier that day, Bonnie Tyler’s family confirmed that the legendary Welsh singer had died unexpectedly at the age of 75.

The announcement was made in an emotional statement released by her family and management team, revealing that she passed away in hospital in Portugal following the illness for which she had been receiving treatment.

The statement read: “Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for.”

The singer, born Gaynor Hopkins, had reportedly been hospitalised in May after suffering complications from a burst appendix and a perforated intestine, requiring emergency surgery. She had also been placed in an induced coma following the operation.

Bonnie Tyler leaves behind an extraordinary musical legacy, with timeless hits including Total Eclipse Of The Heart and Holding Out For A Hero. She had also been preparing for a new European tour that was due to begin later this year.
