Katie Price has taken yet another pointed swipe at her ex-husband Peter Andre, venting on her podcast that she feels stripped of her “rights as a mother” and sidelined from her children’s lives.
The 47-year-old insisted she wasn’t naming names, but the message was unmistakable as she fumed about “someone dictating” her kids’ lives while refusing to give her a say. Katie said it “hurts her feelings” because, in her words, she is their mother “forever”, while “people who make money off them will come and go”.
Katie and Peter have clashed repeatedly over the years, their issues resurfacing more recently as tensions grow around their children Princess, 18, and Junior, 20.
On the podcast with her sister Sophie, she explained how painful it feels to be shut out: she said that if someone dictated Sophie’s kids’ lives, “it’s like taking your mother’s instinct, your mother’s right”. When Sophie joked whether their own mum had ever said that to Katie, she laughed and replied, “No, but it’s true.”
The latest flare-up comes after Peter banned Katie from appearing in Princess’ ITV series The Princess Diaries. In a dramatic move, Peter and his wife Emily have now stepped back from seasons two and three after the backlash — leaving Princess to front the show alone.
Insiders say Peter agreed to withdraw “to quieten the noise” surrounding Katie’s exclusion. Junior, however, will still feature as cameras follow Princess abroad and at home, where she has a major beauty project in Liverpool.
Katie has long accused Peter and his management team of blocking her from attending Princess’ shoots, signings and events, claiming they consider her “trash”. She said she desperately wants to support her daughter, especially as Princess follows a similar career path to her own.
She expressed frustration that while she went to all of Princess’ childhood events — school plays, Christmas shows, matches — she’s now barred from the work that mirrors her own early fame. She said she told Princess she doesn’t want her daughter feeling forced to choose between her mum and her career.
Peter hit back in August, revealing for the first time that he had sole custody of Junior and Princess from 2018 until adulthood, saying it was for their “safety”. He said he kept it private out of respect for the children until Katie’s latest accusations forced him to speak.
Katie still insists she’s the best person to guide Princess as she enters the influencer world, saying that without both her and Pete, “Princess and Junior wouldn’t be known anyway”. She called it “an insult” after 30 years in the industry that she’s being kept away from her daughter’s rising career.
