Ulrika Jonsson, 58, Debuts Radiant New Look After Admitting She ‘Had Given Up On My Face’ Following Years Of Sun Damage

Ulrika Jonsson has unveiled a glowing new look after candidly admitting she once felt she had “largely given up” on caring for her face following years of sun exposure.

The 58-year-old television presenter shared a series of radiant selfies on Instagram on Monday, proudly revealing the results of her latest skincare treatments.

Reflecting on the change, Ulrika explained that until recently she had accepted the effects of sun damage because she believed there was little she could do about it.

She told followers: “Up until last year, I had largely given up on my face. I had learnt to accept the consequences of years of sun exposure because I didn’t realise there was anything I could do about it.”

However, the star revealed she has since started visiting a clinic for a course of treatments aimed at improving the overall quality of her skin. Rather than trying to reverse time, Ulrika said the process has helped her develop a healthier relationship with ageing.

She explained that the journey was never about chasing youth. Instead, it was about confidence and realistic expectations. Ulrika wrote: “For me, it was not about turning back the clock but it was the start of a relationship which had its basis in reassurance and realistic expectations.”

The presenter added that she now feels happier than ever when she looks in the mirror.

“I am beyond thrilled with my new skin and the reflection that now meets me in the mirror every day,” she said, before sharing a broader message about ageing.

According to Ulrika, growing older should be embraced rather than feared. She wrote: “I am more than happy with laughter lines and wrinkles. They are, after all, the marks of a life lived.”

“I think we need to remember that ageing is natural, but above all else, it’s a privilege. How we, as individuals, choose to age is our prerogative.”

The skincare update comes shortly after Ulrika revealed she had undergone another medical procedure — this time to treat varicose veins.

Last month, the TV personality shared photos from hospital while recovering from the treatment, joking that it was “painful, uncomfortable and not the sexiest thing in the world.”

She admitted the recovery process had been far from glamorous, describing how her legs were tightly wrapped in surgical stockings and occasionally bleeding. Despite the discomfort, Ulrika confirmed the procedure had been successful.

She explained that this was actually the third time she had undergone treatment for varicose veins, with her previous visit taking place more than two decades ago.

In a candid update, she revealed: “Under strict instruction from my occasional therapist who told me I needed to get out of my comfort zone, I decided on a day out to get my varicose veins done.”

Although the procedure was complex, Ulrika joked that the small comforts — including someone making her a cheese and ham toastie during recovery — helped lift her spirits.

Now resting at home and instructed to take it easy for several days, the star ended her update with her trademark humour, asking fans to send “healing vibes and baked goods” while she recovers.
