British singer Paloma Faith has announced the arrival of her third child, revealing she endured a painful Caesarean section and an anxious few days in a neonatal intensive care unit before finally bringing her newborn home.
The 44-year-old star shared the emotional update with fans on Instagram on Tuesday, confirming she had given birth to a baby boy on Friday, March 6. Posting a tender photo of herself holding the tiny hand of her newborn son, Paloma opened up candidly about the realities of childbirth and recovery.

She wrote: “On Friday March 6th I had my third baby, a little boy… He was a bit early and ended up in NICU for three days. The midwives and team around me were incredible. Particularly today we go home!”
The singer, who already shares two daughters with her former partner Leyman Lahcine, described the experience as both overwhelming and joyful as she navigates life as a new mother once again.
“As usual it’s not easy,” she admitted. “I’m engorged already, day three intrusive thoughts, in love with my partner and my kids more than ever. Just taking it all slow. C-sections ARE PAINFUL! He’s perfect and wonderful. Breastfeeding is hard!”
A New Chapter With Stevie Thomas
The newborn is Paloma’s first child with her current partner Stevie Thomas, a managing director at music venue The Jam House. The couple made their relationship public in March last year during the Sony Music BRIT Awards afterparty.
Paloma first revealed she was pregnant back in October, sharing the news in typically humorous style on social media. At the time she captioned her post: “Plot twist, mother is mothering (again) #morethangeriatricpregnancy #oappregnancy #oapmilf #18weekspregnant.”
Throughout her pregnancy the singer kept fans updated with candid posts and reflections on motherhood.

Previous Struggles With Breastfeeding Pain
Her latest admission about the difficulty of breastfeeding echoes a painful experience she previously shared following the birth of her second child in 2021. At the time, Paloma revealed she had been suffering “next level pain” caused by acute breast engorgement, a condition that can make feeding extremely difficult.
Despite the challenges, the star’s latest message focused on gratitude and love as she embraces life with her growing family.
Controversial Gender Reveal Comments
Just weeks before giving birth, Paloma also sparked debate online when she mocked the idea of gender-reveal announcements in a tongue-in-cheek video.
Holding both a pink balloon and a blue balloon, she teased her followers by asking: “Is it gonna be a boy? Or is it gonna be a girl? I want all of you to know.”
Moments later she released the balloons, which quickly deflated as they floated away, before delivering her punchline.
“Oh, come on, does it really matter?” she said. “It’s 2026 — do we even give a s**t about gender anymore? It’ll be whatever it wants to be when it’s old enough to decide its own identity.”

Love Changed Her Mind About Marriage
Paloma’s relationship with Stevie has also shifted her long-held views on marriage. Speaking earlier this year on Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo’s Newly Weds podcast, she admitted she had previously been strongly against the idea.
“I wasn’t married to my kids’ dad and I’ve always been very anti-marriage,” she explained, noting that she grew up with strong feminist beliefs about the institution.
But she confessed her outlook has softened since meeting Stevie. “When I met him I said, ‘I’m never going to get married, don’t ever ask me.’ And then over time I’ve found myself thinking, ‘Yeah… I’ll keep an open mind.’”
She added that having children together can sometimes feel like an even deeper commitment. “I do think having kids with someone is stronger than marriage from experience.”
Now, with a newborn son finally home after a nerve-wracking start to life, Paloma says she is focusing on recovery and soaking up every moment with her partner and their children.
