Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have finally spoken out about the deepening family feud that has overshadowed their upcoming wedding, stressing that “we don’t want sympathy” as they addressed the crisis publicly for the first time.
The 30-year-old Olympian posted a lengthy statement on social media on Wednesday evening, accusing some of his own relatives of “encouraging” false claims about him, Holly, and his sister Bethany. He said both women had been “targeted” and “hurt” by the allegations, which have now escalated to involve the police.

In his message, Adam said it had been “deeply upsetting” to read online commentary about their private lives, especially because so much of it was “one-sided” and based on “a false premise.” He added that what made the situation harder was the awareness that “members of my family” had amplified the accusations.
Assuring fans that there are “always two sides to every story,” Adam insisted that he has spent years trying to become “the man I want to be — a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete — even through these challenging times.”
He also confirmed that certain matters could not be discussed publicly due to an ongoing police investigation into “serious issues” that began long before recent events.

The feud erupted after claims that Adam had “changed” since becoming part of the Ramsay family and distancing himself from his working-class roots. His fiancée Holly, 25, has reportedly been the target of hostility online, including accusations from Adam’s aunt Louise, who branded her “divisive and hurtful” after Adam’s mother Caroline was not invited to Holly’s hen do at Soho Farmhouse. Caroline has since been banned from the couple’s wedding at Bath Abbey next month — while Bethany attended the hen party alongside Tana Ramsay and Victoria Beckham.
Caroline later shared an emotional post praising her sister Louise as her “protector,” before pleading for others online to “please stop” being cruel.
The row intensified last weekend when Holly called the police over fears Adam’s brother James might confront him after returning from his stag do in Budapest. Five officers escorted Adam through passport control upon landing in the UK; James was subsequently arrested at his home in Staffordshire.

A source close to the couple said Adam believes his mother has been “enabling” James rather than pushing him to confront his “demons,” leaving Caroline “torn” and overwhelmed. Gordon Ramsay has reportedly been a support to both Adam and Holly throughout the turmoil, having experienced similar issues with his own brother in the past.
Adam’s father Mark has confirmed tensions have reached breaking point, saying that while brothers “fight, argue, fall out and make up,” things have “got out of hand,” with “very little empathy” shown towards James’ mental-health challenges.
Despite admitting she has reached “rock bottom,” Caroline told the Daily Mail she still wants to repair the relationship, insisting: “I love you, Adam. There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive.”
Adam closed his statement by thanking those who had shown “kindness and understanding,” reiterating that he, Bethany and Holly “will get through this” and are simply asking people to remember that “there are always two sides to every story.”
