David Beckham reportedly came agonisingly close to seeing his eldest son Brooklyn — not once, but twice — during a stay at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, in what friends are said to view as another painful reminder of the family’s deepening rift.
According to reports, Sir David and Victoria Beckham have wanted nothing more than to be in the same room as Brooklyn since the fallout that tore the family apart last year. And on Monday, that longed-for moment almost happened, as father and son narrowly missed each other on two separate occasions at the five-star Los Angeles hotspot.

David had arrived late on Sunday night after returning from a skiing trip in British Columbia with Romeo. He then left early the next morning for a filming location in Santa Monica, where he was shooting an advert for Lays ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
In a cruel twist, Brooklyn reportedly turned up at the hotel just hours later after partying into the early morning at Sir Elton John’s Oscars viewing party. Witnesses said the influencer enjoyed breakfast before settling in for what they described as a “chill day” by the pool.
Later that afternoon, Brooklyn was seen sunbathing by the hotel’s lavish poolside area at around 3pm — just a few hours before David returned for dinner at the world-famous Polo Lounge with two male friends, including David Gardner, who was once said to share a close bond with Brooklyn.

While there was a reported three-hour gap between Brooklyn being last seen and David arriving for dinner, insiders suggested the timing may have been even tighter than it appeared.
One source told the Daily Mail: “Far from it being a summit, David was totally in the dark about where Brooklyn was and had no idea that he had just missed him, not just once, but twice.”
The source added: “Brooklyn was with Elton when David arrived to check in on Sunday night, didn’t get there before David left on Monday morning and then had gone before he arrived back.”

According to those close to the family, there has been “absolutely no contact” between Brooklyn and his parents for some time. One insider said: “It is desperately sad but that is how Brooklyn has chosen to live his life with Nicola.”
They also claimed Brooklyn likely had no idea his father was staying just yards away from where he was having breakfast.
The source continued: “They didn’t see one another, if fate had intervened and they did come face-to-face it would have been very awkward. Brooklyn has made it very clear he doesn’t want anything to do with David or Victoria, so it probably saved a whole lot of upset for David.”

Another insider suggested the emotional fallout could have been crushing for the former England captain, saying: “He would have been devastated to be snubbed by his own son, it would have been truly awful. David looked like he was having a great time when he was at dinner, you wonder if that would have been different if he had known he had missed his son.”
Brooklyn has reportedly become a regular at the Beverly Hills Hotel in recent days, sometimes appearing there without wife Nicola Peltz. The glamorous venue is just a short drive from the £13million villa he shares with Nicola on the exclusive Trousdale estate, making it an easy retreat for a day in the sun.
Meanwhile, David’s US trip was tied to a major new commercial deal with Lays, which is linked to the World Cup tournament kicking off in June across the US, Canada and Mexico. He was seen filming in Santa Monica behind the wheel of a yellow truck, dressed casually in jeans and a white T-shirt.
The tension between Brooklyn and his famous parents is said to have been festering for months. Reports claim the silence dates back to last May, when Brooklyn and Nicola failed to attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations. It has also been alleged that lawyers for the couple later contacted the Beckhams’ legal team, insisting any communication should go through them.
Shortly before Christmas, Brooklyn reportedly blocked his parents on Instagram. Then in January, he allegedly posted a bombshell six-page letter on social media accusing David and Victoria of controlling him for much of his life, attempting to come between him and Nicola, and leaving him humiliated when Victoria danced “inappropriately” with him during the first dance at his wedding. Victoria has denied those allegations.
With its pink façade and old-school Hollywood glamour, the Beverly Hills Hotel has long been a playground for stars. But for the Beckhams, it now appears to have become the setting for one of the saddest almost-reunions in their family’s painful public split.
