Zoe Ball has sparked a frenzy among Strictly Come Dancing fans after eagle-eyed viewers spotted what many believe is a major clue that she could soon become the face of the BBC dance phenomenon.
The 55-year-old BBC Radio 2 presenter, who previously fronted Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two for an entire decade, is now reportedly one of the leading contenders to replace long-time hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly as bosses prepare for a dramatic new era of the beloved series.

Fans became convinced Zoe was secretly preparing for the role after noticing she had suddenly followed all of Strictly’s professional dancers, judges, and several fan-run Instagram accounts connected to the show. She also followed the programme’s official page — a move many viewers believe was far from accidental.
A source claimed Zoe is “an absolute Strictly buff” and “adores the show completely,” adding that she remains one of three female presenters currently being seriously considered behind the scenes. However, insiders also revealed Zoe is hesitant about stepping into such an enormous role because of the intense public scrutiny that comes with it.
The insider added that Zoe’s history with It Takes Two mirrors Claudia Winkleman’s own path before she eventually landed the main hosting role — something BBC viewers have not ignored.

While the BBC refused to confirm any names, a spokesperson teased that plans for Strictly Come Dancing 2026 “will be confirmed in due course.”
Behind the scenes, the race to land the presenting gig is said to be incredibly competitive. According to reports, shortlisted stars were secretly summoned to a top-secret London location where they took part in full-scale rehearsals alongside a live band and judging panel.
A huge list of famous names has reportedly entered the frame, including Emma Willis, Rylan Clark, Alison Hammond, Alex Jones, Bradley Walsh, Tom Allen and even Drag Race star La Voix.
Sources claim BBC bosses are desperate to “bring the fun back” after recent turbulence surrounding the show and are focusing heavily on chemistry, humour and live energy when choosing the next presenting line-up.

There are even rumours the BBC could completely shake up the format with either a mixed presenting duo or possibly introducing a third host for the first time.
Meanwhile, Strictly’s professional dancer line-up for 2026 has already been partially confirmed, with fan favourites including Dianne Buswell, Vito Coppola, Amy Dowden, Nikita Kuzmin and Johannes Radebe all returning. However, several major names including Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez have reportedly been dropped from the line-up.
And although the celebrities competing this year remain a tightly guarded secret, anticipation is already building as fans brace themselves for what could become one of the biggest shake-ups in Strictly history.
