Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing have officially become parents, announcing the arrival of their baby boy — and revealing that his name, Ziggy, is a sweet nod to their shared love for David Bowie.
The Made In Chelsea favourites broke the news on Instagram with two intimate photos: one of Jamie wrapping his arms around Sophie as she cradled their newborn, and another of the new mum holding her son close. Jamie wrote in his caption that “Ziggy, you have our whole hearts.”

The couple, who once decorated their apartment with a Warhol print of Bowie’s legendary Ziggy Stardust persona, were quickly flooded with congratulatory messages from celebrity friends. Jessie J told Sophie, “You did it mama,” while Rylan Clark, Stacey Solomon and Strictly’s Nadiya Bychkova also sent their love. Kate Lawler praised the name as “very cool.”

Fans can expect a deeper look into Sophie’s pregnancy and birth in the pair’s upcoming Disney+ series about their journey into parenthood.
Recently, Sophie admitted that becoming a mum had stirred up new anxieties — especially around people kissing her baby. Speaking on their Nearly Parents podcast, she didn’t mince words, admitting that “no one’s f*****g kissing my baby,” adding that even the thought of strangers kissing her newborn “gives me sleepless nights.” Jamie burst out laughing as Sophie joked that he once suggested strengthening their baby’s immune system by “putting mud on him” in the garden.
The couple married in a lavish Spanish ceremony in 2023 following a civil wedding at Chelsea Town Hall. They shared their pregnancy news in June with a simple heart emoji and a touching ultrasound video that melted fans’ hearts. Messages from friends poured in, with Molly-Mae Hague writing, “Congratulations guys!!!!”, and author Elizabeth Day saying she was “so happy” for them.

In a candid interview earlier this year, Jamie revealed he had once been terrified of having children because he couldn’t control the unknowns — but everything shifted when he saw a clip of a dad saying the best moment of his life was being called “Dad.” Jamie admitted: “I would like to have loads,” and Sophie sweetly agreed.
The pair, who first met on Made In Chelsea and officially got together in 2019, endured rumours and relationship pressure from the show before deciding not to film their wedding, with Jamie reflecting that after years in reality TV, “it’s tough on the soul.” Sophie added simply: “It is a day for us and our family and friends.”
Now, with baby Ziggy in their arms, they’ve begun a completely new chapter — one filled with music inspiration, sleepless nights, and more love than ever.
