Rylan Clark has sent fans into a frenzy after accidentally referring to himself as a “married man” live on TV — despite only going public with boyfriend Kennedy Bates less than a year ago.
The 37-year-old presenter appeared on Thursday’s episode of This Morning alongside fellow Eurovision commentator Angela Scanlon during a live video call from Vienna ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest festivities.
While chatting with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Rylan unexpectedly dropped a line that instantly left viewers stunned.

After Cat joked about whether he had been “well behaved,” Rylan laughed and began recalling previous encounters with King Charles linked to Eurovision events in Liverpool and Turin. But things suddenly took an unexpected turn when he declared: “So yeah, I am behaving now. Look, I’m a married man, I’m very happy…”
The studio immediately erupted in confusion, with Ben quickly interrupting to ask if something had happened in Vienna that viewers didn’t know about.
Realising the chaos he had caused, Rylan burst out laughing and rapidly corrected himself, insisting: “Not married, just very happy, very content. Living my fairground life.”
The awkward but hilarious moment instantly sparked speculation online, especially given how serious his relationship with Kennedy Bates has reportedly become over the past year.
Rylan first confirmed his romance with Kennedy — the boss of the famous Billy Bates & Sons travelling funfair — back in August last year during an emotional appearance on Louis Theroux’s podcast. At the time, he admitted he had openly dated Kennedy for months before anyone even noticed.

Since then, the couple have appeared happier than ever. Earlier this year, the pair shared loved-up photos from a luxury Maldives getaway, posting snaps holding hands on the beach, swimming together in crystal-clear waters and enjoying romantic dinners with friends.
Fans were especially emotional seeing Rylan smiling again after his painful divorce from former husband Dan Neal in 2021. The TV star had previously admitted cheating during the marriage, with the breakdown of the relationship deeply affecting his mental health.
Now, friends and fans believe Kennedy has helped Rylan rediscover happiness — and the presenter has even hinted that children could be part of their future together.
