The 2025 Britain’s Got Talent final had it all — jaw-dropping acts, chaos on live TV, and a victory that left some viewers cheering and others fuming.
After a thrilling final showdown, magician Harry Moulding was officially crowned this year’s winner, securing the £250,000 prize and a place at the Royal Variety Performance in front of King Charles. But while Harry celebrated backstage with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, and guest judge KSI, many fans took to social media to voice their discontent.

Fans claim runner-up was ‘robbed’
Coming in second place was dance group Blackouts, who garnered 15.1% of the public vote, trailing behind Harry’s 21.7%. But the online reaction was fierce. “Robbed!!!” one fan posted. “They should have won — best act by far,” said another.

Controversy over “unfair” airtime
Adding fuel to the fire, some fans noticed Harry seemed to have more time on stage than other acts. While performances are typically limited to two minutes, viewers questioned why Harry and comedian Joseph Charm appeared to have longer slots. “Not saying he didn’t deserve it,” one viewer wrote, “but the timings were unfair.”
Others added: “Harry had way more airtime than anyone else.”
“Binita barely had time to showcase her talent.”
“They need to level the playing field next year.”
Live chaos: Swearing, interruptions and surprises
The night wasn’t without hiccups. Bruno Tonioli swore live on air, prompting Ant and Dec to issue a swift apology. Simon Cowell stunned audiences by telling one act to “F off” mid-broadcast. A technical issue also forced a temporary halt to the live show.
Still, fans were treated to a vibrant guest performance from KSI and pop singer Tom Grennan — one of the night’s unexpected highlights.
A winner crowned, but controversy remains
Despite all the drama, Harry Moulding’s magic clearly captivated the audience, earning him the top spot. But as social media continues to debate the fairness of his win, it’s clear that this year’s BGT final will be remembered for more than just the tricks.
