“READ THE ROOM!” Fury as mum-of-22 Sue Radford complains about cancelled Dubai holiday while thousands of British families remain stranded in the Middle East

Sue Radford has found herself at the centre of a furious backlash after complaining online about her cancelled luxury trip to Dubai — at the very moment thousands of British holidaymakers remain stranded across the Middle East.

The 22 Kids and Counting star sparked outrage when she shared a “face palm” selfie on social media, telling followers about the “nightmare” situation she was facing with her travel company after her holiday plans fell apart.

Her post quickly drew criticism as tensions continue to flare across the region, with many British families reportedly trapped in Dubai and nearby countries while flight disruptions continue.

Over the weekend, some parents even described terrifying moments as missiles were intercepted above holiday resorts, leaving families sheltering in hotels and basements while waiting for flights home.

Against that backdrop, Sue’s complaints struck a nerve with many followers.

The mum-of-22 had explained that her children Aimee and Chris had gifted her and husband Noel several weekend trips for Christmas. But because their schedules clashed, the couple decided to swap the trips for a break in Dubai instead.

The Radfords are well known for their love of the UAE and have visited Dubai several times before — including a trip featured on their Channel 5 show.

However, Sue revealed that the couple were due to fly out on Wednesday when things began to unravel.

She wrote that trying to contact the travel company had turned into a “nightmare”, explaining: “Phone lines dead so guessing they have turned them off and no response from them to emails.”

Sue continued her frustration in the post, adding: “I have commented on their insta page but all of our comments have been deleted and there been lots from very unhappy customers.”

She also told followers that even rearranging the trip appeared impossible.

“I know we are safe in this country but even if you wanted to rebook you can’t because they aren’t dealing with it,” she said.

But many fans were unimpressed by the timing of her complaint, accusing the TV personality of being “tone deaf” while people in the region fear for their safety.

One furious commenter wrote: “This is tone deaf. People are dying. Others are hiding in hotel rooms or basements. And the rest are stranded fearing for their lives. Your holiday does not matter right now.”

Another follower said the post felt “dramatised”, pointing out that a war was unfolding while Sue was complaining about travel issues.

Others echoed similar sentiments, with one writing: “How insensitive to those who are currently fearing for their lives. People have died, a war is going on and you’re moaning because you can’t book a holiday to Dubai?”

Another bluntly added: “Hmm very egocentric post this one is. Think of all the stranded people over there.”

Several critics urged Sue to “read the room”.

Despite the backlash, Sue has remained defiant.

She later updated followers to say that the travel company had contacted her via Instagram and also responded directly to some of the critical comments.

Replying to one person, she wrote: “Have you actually read the post? I hope nobody ever uses this company again because the stories I’ve read are awful, so sorry for telling people.”

The critic responded by suggesting there may be a serious reason for the company’s silence.

“Yes I read the post but maybe there is a very good reason for not being able to get in touch,” the commenter replied. “There are some major heartbreaking things going on.”
