Princess and Junior Andre have opened up about the moment they learned their mother Katie Price had become engaged after just a whirlwind week of dating — and their stunned reaction has now been captured on camera in Princess’s ITV2 reality show.
The siblings, who appear together in The Princess Diaries, spoke candidly about the shock announcement after finding out through a family WhatsApp message.

Recalling the moment, Princess, 18, explained that she was completely taken aback when she first read the message from her mum. She told her brother: “The message mum sent on the family WhatsApp about her being engaged. I literally responded O.M.G.”
Junior, 20, admitted he was equally baffled. He recalled replying: “Yeah, I think I put, ‘I’m so confused, what bombshell?’”
Later, speaking directly to the camera, the singer admitted he was still struggling to process the news. He said that at that moment he didn’t really know what to think, adding that the situation felt shocking because he didn’t even know the man his mum was planning to marry.
“I don’t know the guy, so that is shocking. It is, of course, it is,” he explained. “If anyone’s mum got engaged to someone you don’t know, you’re gonna be like, what the hell?”

Despite the surprise, Junior tried to show understanding about his mum’s choices. Speaking to Princess during their heart-to-heart conversation, he said he would have liked to know more about what had been going on beforehand, but acknowledged that everyone lives their own lives.
“Mum is not a bad person at all, she’s a great mum,” he added.
Princess, who has grown into a successful model and influencer in her own right, agreed that their mother’s impulsive personality was well known.
“Mum is very impulsive, I just want her to be happy,” she said.
However, she admitted the speed of the engagement had still left her stunned.
“I mean, that is impulse on a whole other level,” Princess confessed. “I don’t know anything about him, I just know he proposed to my mum within knowing her for a week.”
Junior tried to keep things simple, saying that ultimately the only thing that mattered to him was whether his mum would be treated well.
“If this guy can treat mum respectfully, that’s all I care about,” he explained.
Still, both siblings couldn’t help acknowledging the situation was a little chaotic — something they joked was typical for Katie Price.

“I do think though that it is a bit crazy, but it’s not surprising because it is mum,” Princess said.
Junior laughed as he summed it up even more bluntly: “Mum is crazy, but that’s just mum.”
The conversation soon turned more emotional as the pair reflected on growing up together in the spotlight and dealing with the ups and downs of their famous family.
Princess admitted that now they are older, they are finally able to talk openly about their feelings and support one another through difficult moments.
“Now we’re older, we can actually just talk about it and we can actually discuss how we feel,” she explained. “I think we’ve, in a way, trauma bonded, that we’ve grown up in a lot of difficult situations.”
Junior agreed that the challenges they experienced growing up had brought them even closer together.
“We’ve always been there for each other in that sense,” Princess added.
“And I wouldn’t change it for anything,” Junior said.
Speaking candidly to the camera, he reflected on their childhood in the public eye.
“Growing up, me and Princess have had great times, but we’ve also really had it hard,” he admitted. “But going through what we have gone through has definitely made us stronger people.”
The emotional moment comes as The Princess Diaries returned for its second series on ITV2.
The show follows Princess as she navigates life in the spotlight while building her own career in showbusiness, with appearances from her father Peter Andre, stepmother Emily MacDonagh and brother Junior.
Interestingly, Katie Price herself had been largely absent from the programme’s first series. She previously claimed she had been banned from filming after a request from Princess’s management team — who also represent Peter Andre.
However, sources revealed earlier this year that the former glamour model would appear in the second series after all, making a surprise appearance via FaceTime in the latest episode.
