“We Still Can’t Believe It!” – Morning Live’s Michelle Ackerley Pregnant with First Baby After Endometriosis Struggles
Michelle Ackerley has shared the beautiful news that she’s expecting her first baby — and the surprise announcement has left fans and colleagues overjoyed.

The Morning Live presenter, 40, broke the news live on air during Tuesday’s show (May 6), while hosting alongside co-star Gethin Jones. Teased by Gethin as having “some news” to share, Michelle confirmed with a beaming smile:
“I am four months pregnant. I still can’t quite believe it myself… but yes, very, very happy.”
The studio erupted in applause, and Gethin added warmly: “Huge congratulations, we’re all so, so happy for you.”
Michelle later opened up further on Instagram, reflecting on how far she’s come — both emotionally and physically. She revealed that just earlier this year, she was preparing for yet another procedure related to her endometriosis, a condition that had deeply affected her fertility.
“It’s been an emotional rollercoaster,” she wrote. “I honestly didn’t think 12 months after getting married I’d be writing a post like this. Falling pregnant came as a huge surprise.”
Michelle and her husband, former rugby coach Ben Ryan, tied the knot last year. Since then, the couple have been adjusting to the idea of sleepless nights. She joked that she’s been nudging Ben awake at 3am to practice: “Let’s have a conversation in the middle of the night – this is what we’ve got to get used to!”
Support has poured in from fellow celebrities and friends, including Kimberley Walsh, Matt Baker, and Charlene White, all celebrating what many called “amazing and wonderful news”.
