Lorraine Kelly has broken her silence after a two-week absence from her ITV show, revealing she’s recovering well from surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes. The 65-year-old TV icon underwent the preventative procedure earlier this month and took time off to rest.

Lorraine first revealed the surgery in a video from her hospital bed, explaining it was a “wee procedure” meant to protect her health after recent scans and tests. The operation, known as bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, is commonly used to lower cancer risk and address complications like ovarian cysts.
Now recovering at home in Buckinghamshire, Lorraine posted a heartwarming photo of herself cuddling her granddaughter Billie, writing: “Thanks so much for all your get well wishes. Billie’s cuddles have been the best medicine. Hopefully back to work on Monday – I’ve missed you!”

Fans flooded the post with messages of support, some noting the striking resemblance between Billie and Lorraine’s daughter Rosie. One wrote: “Babies really are the best medicine. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”
During her break, Andi Peters filled in for Lorraine after Ranvir Singh also stepped away unexpectedly for emergency appendix surgery.
Lorraine also opened up about her peaceful recovery space — her £2 million countryside home, complete with tall ceilings, wooden beams, and a garden-filled view. It’s been seven years since she moved from Scotland to the calm of Buckinghamshire, a decision she now credits for helping her stay grounded.
She closed her update with a smile, saying she’s feeling much better and can’t wait to return to her viewers.
