LeAnn Out, Kelly In: The Voice Just Got Its Most Exciting Coach Yet, Co-Stars Say It’s the Best Change in Years

Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland has officially joined The Voice UK, stepping in as a coach after LeAnn Rimes quit the show – and the cast couldn’t be more thrilled.

LeAnn Rimes, 42, left the competition series after just one season, citing her desire to refocus on her music career in the US. A source shared: “LeAnn was loved by everyone, but the timing just wasn’t right for her to stay.”

Speculation swirled about her replacement, with names like Perrie Edwards and Sheryl Crow in the mix. But now, ITV has confirmed that Kelly Rowland, 44, will take the hot seat for the next season.

Kelly previously served as a judge on The X Factor back in 2011, and she’s no stranger to coaching talent. In a statement, she said: “I’m excited to join The Voice UK and can’t wait to meet the amazing singers this season. Let’s do this!”

Fellow coach will.i.am was ecstatic about her arrival, calling Kelly “the best thing to happen to the show in years” and promising the new season would be “on the dopest level possible.”

Sir Tom Jones and Danny Jones also welcomed Kelly warmly, with Tom praising her talent and experience: “She’s an incredible artist who has so much to give.”

Filming for the new season is set to begin this summer.
