Josie Gibson shows off her astonishingly slim figure after losing five stone, stepping out in tight skinny jeans and a bikini after revealing she shed the weight using a “1970s diet”

Josie Gibson has proudly shown off her dramatic five-stone weight loss, stepping out in figure-hugging skinny jeans and later sharing bikini snaps after opening up about how she shed the pounds using a so-called “1970s diet”.

The TV presenter, 40, looked slimmer than ever as she was photographed in London on Thursday afternoon following an appearance on This Morning. Dressed in a rich orange satin blouse paired with navy skinny jeans, Josie appeared confident and relaxed as she ran errands around the capital.

Her fitted jeans highlighted the results of recent liposuction on her legs, which she has undergone as part of her ongoing battle with lipoedema. Josie has previously admitted she went under the knife in an effort to reverse the effects of the condition, revealing that she plans to have several more procedures despite each surgery costing around £7,000.

Speaking on This Morning with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Josie candidly recalled the moment she realised something was wrong. She said someone commented on Instagram that she had a “typical lipoedema body,” adding that she had always known something was off but had no idea what the condition was until she was diagnosed around a year ago. She later underwent surgery in September.

The procedure involved liposuction to remove stubborn, localised fat deposits, followed by VASER treatment, which uses ultrasound waves to break down fat cells.

Buoyed by a new sense of confidence, Josie also shared bikini photos taken while holidaying in Thailand with her son Reggie. Posting on Instagram, she described enjoying “wild” parties and praised the hotel staff for making her stay unforgettable.

The presenter has also been open about how her lifestyle has changed. She recently revealed she follows intermittent fasting three days a week, keeps to a simple gym routine, and sticks to what she calls a “1970s diet” — smaller portions and classic foods such as boiled potatoes, liver, spam, pork, beans and Angel Delight. The approach focuses on home-cooked meals, minimal sugar and fewer processed foods.

However, Josie insisted her transformation is not as straightforward as it appears. She joked that stress and clever camera angles have played a part, saying she is “not as slim as you think.” She admitted that juggling work, motherhood and renovating a new home in Bath left her so exhausted that when she finally arrived in Thailand, she slept for 27 hours straight.
