Jimmy Carr has once again turned the spotlight on himself, candidly admitting he’s become “a little bit addicted” to cosmetic surgery – and making it clear he has no intention of stopping.
The 53-year-old comedian addressed his much-discussed transformation during a chat on Radio X, poking fun at his own appearance and crediting what he jokingly called “a list of surgeons” for how he looks today. With trademark self-deprecation, Jimmy joked that there’s “nothing I haven’t had done”, insisting he simply decided to make the best of what he was given.

He confessed that cosmetic tweaks can become surprisingly tempting, explaining that while it’s fun, it’s also “a little bit addictive”. Using one of his trademark one-liners, he joked that while you can’t polish a turd, you can at least “roll it in glitter”.
Asked whether he was finally finished with procedures, Jimmy was quick to dismiss the idea. Comparing his cosmetic journey to Scotland’s famously never-ending Forth Bridge, he quipped that the work is never really complete – before joking that he’d look surprised by the question, if only his face could still manage it.

Jimmy went on to list the procedures he’s had, including Botox, filler, veneers and a hair transplant, which he described in graphic – and humorous – detail. He explained that rather than hair coming from a “donor”, surgeons carefully take hair from the back of the head and replant it on top. While he insists the procedure works, he joked that whenever the hair on the back of his neck stands up, he ends up looking like Tintin.
Reflecting on his decision to go under the knife, Jimmy admitted it stemmed from a kind of midlife crisis and disappointment with his appearance. He revealed that getting his teeth done was the first step, undergoing marathon 12-hour sessions in the chair across multiple days. He later opted for a hair transplant after years of having the same dramatic widow’s peak, joking that he once resembled “a vampire’s accountant”.

Despite his openness, Jimmy insisted his goal has never been to radically change how he looks, but to maintain it. He admitted that even his own surgeon has now advised him against certain treatments, and believes cosmetic work can’t make you look better – only help you stay the same.
Still, true to form, Jimmy remains unapologetic, laughing at himself and embracing his reputation as comedy’s most surgically refreshed star.
