TV chef James Martin has announced a temporary farewell to his beloved Saturday Morning show on ITV, as the programme takes a break for the summer. While fans may be left hungry for more culinary content, the 52-year-old reassured viewers he’ll be back — just not quite yet.

In the final episode before the hiatus, James signed off with a warm thank-you to his guests, team, and loyal audience. “That’s it for the series,” he said. “Me and the crew are heading off on sunny holidays. Different climates!” But while some of his team are heading to Portugal, James revealed he’ll be keeping things local, saying: “Yorkshire for me.”
The popular show has aired since 2017 and has become a staple of ITV’s weekend lineup. However, Saturday’s episode was slightly shorter than usual due to ITV1’s Derby coverage. Still, James made sure to whip up one final dish before saying his goodbyes.

Although he didn’t confirm when Saturday Morning would return, he teased: “We’ll be back later in the year with more top chefs, other brilliant guests, and more delicious recipes.”
James, known for his easygoing style and charm, closed with a heartfelt farewell: “Until then, thanks for watching. Have a wonderful, fantastic summer. I’ll see you out there wherever you are.”
