“I’m not sure how many more documentaries about the Beckhams I can stand” – Richard Madeley Slammed Over ‘Disrespectful’ Swipe at Victoria Beckham’s Netflix Doc

Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley has come under fire after making what viewers called a “shameful and utterly disrespectful” remark about Victoria Beckham’s new Netflix series.

The backlash erupted during Thursday’s GMB broadcast when entertainment editor Richard Arnold introduced the much-talked-about trailer for Victoria Beckham, a three-part docuseries due to hit Netflix on October 9.

Before Arnold could dive into the details, Madeley cut in with his take. “Can I be honest here? I’m not sure how many more documentaries about the Beckhams I can stand,” he remarked. Susanna Reid quickly teased back, “Was one too much?”

The blunt comment didn’t sit well with many fans watching at home. One viewer fumed on X: “Richard Madeley needs to apologise to @victoriabeckham. Shameful comment and completely against public opinion. We’ve all seen enough of you Richard Madeley—how about you get off TV instead.” Another added: “Utterly disrespectful and wrong to insert his own distaste when so many are excited for Victoria’s story.”

Arnold went on to explain that the new project is a follow-up to Netflix’s 2023 hit Beckham. “Now we’ve got a glimpse into Victoria’s life,” he said, noting that the series will track her journey from styling her school uniform to running her own fashion empire, culminating in the pressures of a high-stakes fashion show.

The trailer itself has already stirred emotion. Victoria broke down in tears as she recalled her brand being “millions in the red,” while David admitted the financial strain “panicked” him. But through tears, she insisted, “I want my kids and David to be proud of me.” The emotional clip ended on a lighter note when David reassured her, “You could make a cheese and ham toasted sandwich and we’d be proud of you,” prompting Victoria to quip that she couldn’t even manage that properly.

Fans also spotted rare throwback footage, including Victoria performing on stage in a bright yellow leotard with long curly hair—looking worlds apart from her sleek, signature bob.
