Freddy Brazier has opened up about his excitement to become a father for the first time — and how he plans to honour his late mum, Jade Goody, in a deeply personal way.
The 21-year-old, whose ex-girlfriend is expecting their baby in April, revealed he might name the child “Jade” if it’s a girl. “I think Jade would be a good name, after my mum,” Freddy told The Sun. “But I’ve also got some unique and nice name ideas too. The baby is due next year — it’s really exciting, I can’t wait to be a father. I’m really happy, I want the baby to love its life.”
Freddy shared a sweet moment on Instagram over the weekend, posting a video of himself playing with a baby — gently rubbing its belly as the little one giggled in delight. Fans flooded his DMs with praise, calling him a “natural dad already.”
His family, including his dad Jeff and brother Bobby Brazier, are standing by him. Bobby, 21, was said to be “a bit shocked” by the baby news but offered his full support. Jeff, 46, who had Freddy and Bobby with Big Brother legend Jade Goody before her tragic death from cervical cancer in 2009, said he’s proud of the man his son is becoming.
Jeff recently marked Freddy’s 21st birthday with a touching tribute: “Happy 21st Birthday to our Freddy. What adventures we’ve had — so many lessons learned! I’ll always be walking alongside you, no matter how many times you ignore the sat-nav.”
The upcoming arrival has also helped heal past family rifts. A source revealed that the news “really brought Freddy and his dad back together,” adding: “It’s just heartbreaking that Jade isn’t here to see it.”
Jeff even joked about needing some advice himself, posting on Instagram: “If someone could send me that parenting guidebook, particularly ‘early adult years – the unconventional path’, that would be really helpful.”
It seems Freddy — with his mum’s name close to his heart and his family by his side — is ready for the next chapter of his life.
