Sophie Habboo has laid bare the emotional reality behind life with newborn son Ziggy, revealing that her relationship with husband Jamie Laing was pushed to the edge in the weeks after giving birth.
Ahead of their new Disney+ series Raising Chelsea, the former Made In Chelsea star, 31, admitted that what viewers will see is far from polished perfection — instead exposing raw, unfiltered moments from one of the most intense periods of her life.

Opening up about the early days of parenthood, Sophie confessed that tensions between her and Jamie escalated into explosive rows, with cameras capturing everything. She said there were moments she was convinced would never make it to air, only to later watch them back and feel shocked, admitting that it was simply “life” in its most honest form.
The reality star didn’t shy away from just how overwhelming things became, explaining that juggling a newborn, work commitments and renovating their home left her emotionally drained. She admitted it felt relentless, adding that she was “breaking down almost every day” under the pressure.

Jamie, 37, also revealed just how close their marriage came to collapse during that period, admitting he genuinely feared the relationship might not survive. He even recalled thinking at one point that it was completely over, joking darkly that it felt like they would either end up divorced — or worse.
Despite the chaos, the couple made a conscious decision to show everything in their new series. Jamie explained that unlike many reality shows, they refused to hold anything back, determined to present a true and honest portrayal of parenthood — including the messy, uncomfortable moments most couples keep hidden.
Sophie echoed that sentiment, saying she misses the rawness that reality TV once had, insisting they approached the project as if the cameras weren’t even there.
But it wasn’t just relationship struggles that took a toll.

Sophie also hit out at the backlash she received online over her post-baby body, revealing she faced criticism no matter what she did. She explained that even though she didn’t initially feel pressure from the public, she quickly realised mothers are judged either way — whether they “snap back” or not.
She said some trolls accused her of recovering “too quickly”, branding it unrealistic, while others would have criticised her if she hadn’t. Reflecting on the experience, Sophie admitted it made her realise that pleasing everyone is impossible.
Now, however, she says her mindset has shifted. She feels stronger, kinder to herself, and far less focused on appearance — with baby Ziggy becoming her entire priority. She described the change as both freeing and liberating.
The couple, who welcomed Ziggy in December 2025, will take viewers on their full journey in Raising Chelsea, from pregnancy through to labour and the challenges of early parenthood.
Their story also comes after Jamie previously sparked backlash with a social media post praising Sophie for creating a “magical Christmas” just three weeks after giving birth — with critics accusing him of promoting unrealistic expectations for new mums.
Yet behind the curated Instagram moments, Sophie’s latest revelations paint a very different picture — one of exhaustion, emotional strain, and a relationship tested to its absolute limits.
