Harriet Cowan, the breakout star of the latest season of Clarkson’s Farm, has revealed how her brief stint on the show has already had a lasting impact — especially on young girls dreaming of a future in farming.
Taking over for Kaleb Cooper while he was touring with his live show, Harriet, 24, quickly won over fans with her straightforward attitude and deep love for the land. From helping cows give birth to wrangling fences and managing purchases, she took on the chaos of Diddly Squat Farm with grace and grit — and people noticed.

Since the series aired, Harriet has been regularly approached in public, often by young girls who share the same heartfelt message: “I want to be just like you when I grow up.” One particularly touching moment, which she posted on TikTok, showed a child’s comment moving her to tears. “This gets me every time,” she wrote. “Can’t believe it honestly.”

In an interview with the BBC, Harriet said she’s on a mission to shake up outdated perceptions of farmers. “When you ask people to picture a farmer, they say a 60-year-old man in a checkered shirt with a beer belly,” she explained. “But women are farmers too. Just because I like to curl my hair and wear make-up doesn’t mean I can’t muck in.”
She added: “During the war, women were doing the farming. It’s just about breaking the stereotype.”

Now boasting nearly 750,000 TikTok followers and over 3 million likes, Harriet has used her platform to spotlight modern farming and inspire the next generation — not just through what she says, but through what she does.
One fan commented: “THIS is what girls need – capable, clean-living, funny, creative young women leading the way.” Another fellow farmer added, “That’s about the best compliment you can get. Our industry relies on young, eager people like you.”
As Harriet continues to juggle farm life and online fame, one thing’s for certain: she’s ploughed her way straight into the hearts of a new generation of future farmers.
