Beverley Callard has given fans a heartfelt update on her cancer battle — just days after revealing her surgery had been successful, only for doctors to discover the disease had spread to a lymph node.
The 69-year-old star, best known for her iconic role as Liz McDonald on Coronation Street, was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer earlier this year. While she recently confirmed that her operation had gone well, the news about the lymph node has added a new layer of concern to her recovery journey.

Despite the emotional setback, Beverley has remained open with fans — and revealed that her husband John has completely taken charge of her recovery at home. Speaking on Instagram, she admitted she’s been forced to slow down, saying John “didn’t let me do anything” as she continues to rest and heal.
She shared that she’s been “resting constantly” while also navigating a major house move, with furniture arriving as she focuses on getting stronger. Beverley added that she hopes to feel well enough to attend the live final of I’m A Celebrity South Africa, admitting she’s “very excited” but knows she must prioritise her health.

Over the weekend, the reality star confessed she had pushed herself too far while decorating her new home, working long hours before her body finally gave in. She revealed she was left “completely wiped out,” explaining that even simple tasks like getting dressed or taking a bath felt exhausting.
“I have completely overdone it,” she admitted, adding that she felt like she hadn’t slept at all. Beverley also reflected honestly on how people often describe her as strong, but she disagrees — insisting she’s simply “headstrong,” something she now realises may not always help her recovery.
As she waits for further results after her lymph node was sent to the US for testing, Beverley is trying to take things one day at a time. Her fans have flooded her with support, urging her to rest and focus on healing.
Through it all, one thing is clear — she’s determined to fight, but this time, she’s learning to listen to her body.
