Jeff Brazier has shared his emotional reflections on “history repeating itself” as his eldest son Freddy, 21, prepares to become a father — mirroring Jeff’s own early start to parenthood at 23.

The 46-year-old presenter said he felt “very excited” to soon become a grandad, adding that he deeply relates to his son’s journey. “It’s slightly intriguing when I think about the similarities — Jade and I had a child early, after not really knowing each other for too long. And my mum had me when she was very young as well,” Jeff admitted.

Freddy, who reconciled with his ex-girlfriend Holly Swinburn after learning she was pregnant, announced the news last month. Jeff revealed he’s been “building a relationship” with Holly and her family to ensure everyone stays “connected and aligned” in supporting the young couple.
Their story echoes the past. Jeff and his late partner, reality TV star Jade Goody, were also young parents before Jade tragically passed away in 2009 from cervical cancer, leaving behind sons Freddy and Bobby at just four and five years old.

In a candid interview with Closer magazine, Freddy confessed he’s currently “homeless,” couch-surfing with friends, and figuring life out. Yet, despite the chaos, he shared one touching plan — if the baby is a girl, he hopes to name her Jade in tribute to his late mother. “No one can take that name away from me,” he said.
Despite previous fallouts within the family, Freddy’s baby news has helped heal old wounds. Jeff confirmed he’ll “always be walking alongside” his son through this new chapter.

The young couple recently appeared together at the Pride of Britain Awards, where Holly glowed in a fitted yellow gown, proudly showing her bump as Freddy placed a protective arm around her.
For Jeff, the moment is bittersweet — a new life on the way, a symbol of love and continuity, and a poignant reminder of the woman who started it all.
