Heartbreaking: Jessie J has completed her breast cancer surgery, but the troubling condition she revealed afterward left fans worried, asking: “Did the surgery fail?”

Fortunately, all those worries turned out to be unnecessary, because though she was in pain and afraid, it’s all behind her now.

Jessie J has shared a raw and emotional insight into her battle with breast cancer, posting deeply personal updates from her hospital stay following surgery.

The 36-year-old singer uploaded a series of photos and videos on Instagram that show both the agony and glimmers of light during her treatment. In one clip, Jessie can be seen breaking into song while waiting for surgery, trying to lift her spirits after being in the hospital for over six hours. In another, her partner Chanan Safir Colman kisses her lovingly just before she’s wheeled into the operating room.

The most touching moment came when her two-year-old son, Sky, was allowed to visit her post-surgery. Jessie, visibly emotional in recovery, revealed she imagined hearing him say “I love you mummy” as she drifted out of anesthesia, whispering back “I love you.”

“I will always share the good and the hard bits of any journey,” she told fans. “This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours.”

Now resting at home, Jessie waits for her results but hasn’t lost her sense of humour—joking that Chanan is in a nurse outfit—while also embracing the emotional weight of the experience.

Just days earlier, Jessie took the stage at Wembley Stadium’s Capital Summertime Ball, where she fought back tears as she told a crowd of 75,000: “This is my last show before I go to beat breast cancer!”

Despite admitting to panic attacks, deep fears, and exhaustion from juggling cancer, work, and motherhood, Jessie said she’s embracing both strength and vulnerability. “Some days I cry and fall apart,” she said. “Other days I laugh, sing, and keep going. Both are real. Both are me.”

She even found humour in unexpected places: “Turns out it’s extremely hard to panic or cry while eating corn on the cob. Highly recommend.”

Friends like Craig David and Rochelle Humes have sent messages of love and support, but it’s clear Jessie’s true anchor is her son—and her will to fight.
