Gordon Ramsay joined his six-year-old son Oscar, who looks just like him, to judge classic children’s dishes on Next Level Chef. Many said the moment was even more captivating than the cooking itself

Gordon Ramsay may be famous for his fiery temper and no-nonsense judging style, but viewers are about to see a much softer side of the TV chef in the latest episode of Next Level Chef.

The 59-year-old star was joined by his six-year-old son Oscar for a special moment on the hit cooking show, with the father-and-son duo stepping in to judge a selection of classic children’s dishes. The sweet appearance quickly turned heads, not least because Oscar looked more like Gordon than ever as they wore matching outfits for the occasion.

Gordon later shared a series of adorable snaps on Instagram, showing himself and Oscar posing together behind the scenes ahead of the episode, which is set to air on Fox on Thursday. The images gave fans a rare glimpse into the chef’s family life and highlighted the affectionate bond between the pair.

The popular series, which launched in 2022, sees Gordon judging aspiring chefs alongside fellow mentors Richard Blais and Nyesha Arrington. Contestants battle it out for a grand prize of $250,000 and the opportunity to work professionally with the show’s regular mentors in their restaurants for a year.

Away from the studio, Gordon has also been pushing himself physically as he prepares to take on an Ironman challenge later this year in Costa Navarino, Peloponnese, Greece. Over the weekend, he documented part of his gruelling training on Instagram, sharing a shirtless poolside snap from the Toronto Athletic Club in Canada.

He also posted a video of his branded swim cap for the race, along with an image from his fitness watch showing he had completed a 2,000m swim in 33 minutes. The Ironman event will test Gordon’s endurance to the limit, combining a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a full 26.22-mile marathon in a single day.

Family remains at the centre of Gordon’s life off-screen too. He and wife Tana are parents to Megan, twins Holly and Jack, Tilly, Oscar and young Jesse. The couple also endured heartbreaking loss in 2016 when Tana suffered a miscarriage at five months and delivered their stillborn son Rocky.

In recent weeks, Gordon also opened up about his close relationship with son-in-law Adam Peaty, revealing just how warmly he has embraced the Olympic swimmer into the family. Speaking on Gaby Roslin’s Reasons To Be Joyful podcast, Gordon said: “He calls me dad. He messaged me and said ‘Hey dad, what have you got? Hey dad, are you around later?’”

He added: “And it’s just like, ‘Oh my God’. Incredible. And what a lovely couple. They are a dream for Tana and I.”

His comments came as Adam’s family rift continued to make headlines after it emerged that members of his own family had been banned from his wedding to Holly in December. Gordon, however, has made it clear that his support for the couple has never wavered.

Now, with Oscar by his side on Next Level Chef, Gordon is once again showing that behind the tough TV persona is a devoted family man whose proudest moments may be the ones shared with those closest to him.
