Princess Charlotte couldn’t contain her excitement as she celebrated England’s historic Euros 2025 win with her dad, Prince William, from the stands in Basel.
The 10-year-old royal football fan joined the Prince of Wales at the dramatic showdown between England and Spain, where the Lionesses clinched victory in a nail-biting penalty shootout. Charlotte was spotted pumping her fists, shouting and beaming with joy when Chloe Kelly scored the winning penalty.

Wearing a navy polka-dot dress, the young Princess watched nervously throughout the match, even covering her face in tense moments before letting out cheers as Alessia Russo netted the equaliser and later when Kelly secured the win. William, suited and smiling, was seen chatting with UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin and Princess Leonor of Spain, before handing out winner’s medals with Charlotte.

In a heart-warming gesture, both William and Charlotte were given commemorative medals to mark the historic win. William later congratulated young star Michelle Agyemang and hailed the entire team, saying: “Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe and we couldn’t be prouder. Enjoy this moment.”

The Royals weren’t the only ones backing the squad. Amanda Holden, Alan Carr, and David Beckham were among many celebrities cheering the team on. Loose Women’s Katie Piper praised the team for their passion and fight, while England captain Leah Williamson said the squad was “connected to what it means to the nation”.

Chloe Kelly’s heroics and Hannah Hampton’s two penalty saves sealed the 3-1 shootout win after a 1-1 draw in normal time. Fans, including Sir Keir Starmer and his wife, roared with pride in the packed St Jakob-Park stadium, while 16 million viewers tuned in from the UK.

The team’s comeback was even sweeter considering their World Cup final loss to Spain just two years ago. Now, with two consecutive Euro wins under Sarina Wiegman and the nation behind them, the Lionesses are set to celebrate with a victory parade through London—starting at The Mall and ending at Buckingham Palace.
