Eamonn Holmes put on a brave face as he smiled alongside his new partner Katie Alexander while visibly struggling to walk during a high-profile engagement party. The 63-year-old GB News presenter made a rare public appearance with 43-year-old Katie as they attended co-star Nana Akua’s glamorous celebration in Shoreditch.
Eamonn, dressed smartly in his signature navy suit and white shirt, gripped a stroller tightly for support as he made his way into the Blue Marlin Club. Despite his mobility challenges, he flashed a proud smile as Katie – stunning in a fitted chocolate-brown bodycon dress and gold accessories – linked arms with him.
The event was one of the couple’s first major public outings since Eamonn split from Ruth Langsford last year, following a difficult period marked by his ongoing health battles. He has undergone spinal surgery and double hip replacements in recent years and often relies on mobility aids to get around.
Though the pain was clear, Eamonn stayed in good spirits throughout the night with Katie reportedly remaining by his side the entire time. He has previously admitted that his health woes took a toll on his marriage to Ruth, even confessing that family members grew tired of his daily struggle: “Even my own family are bored of my moaning. It’s agony,” he once said.
Katie has also spoken out about the challenges of their relationship being under public scrutiny. Last month, she chose not to attend the TRIC Awards with Eamonn, citing mental health reasons and saying she would “rather protect my peace” than face online backlash.
Still, the pair appeared united and glowing at Nana and fiancé Stephen Gillen’s celebration – a fresh chapter for Eamonn, who seems determined to keep moving forward despite the hurdles.
