David Beckham was pictured looking visibly strained as he made his first public appearance since his son Brooklyn Beckham released an explosive statement laying bare the family’s bitter feud.
The former footballer, 50, appeared at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, where he posed for promotional photographs and recorded an interview for Radio Davos. Those close to the event noted that David struggled to summon his usual confident smile, appearing weary-eyed just hours after Brooklyn’s extraordinary social media outburst sent shockwaves through the Beckham brand.

The annual gathering, which opens under the banner of “improving the state of the world” and promotes “a spirit of dialogue,” provided a stark contrast to the deeply personal crisis unfolding within one of Britain’s most famous families.
On Monday night, Brooklyn, 26, shared a six-page statement on Instagram in which he said he had no desire to reconcile with his family and was standing up for himself “for the first time in my life.” He accused his parents of controlling narratives about the family, claiming public image and promotion were always prioritised over genuine relationships.
Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz have been at the centre of the rift, having reportedly distanced themselves from key family milestones in recent months, including David’s 50th birthday celebrations and his knighthood. Brooklyn said that since being with Nicola, he had finally found “peace and relief” after years of crippling anxiety.

In the statement, he alleged that his mother Victoria Beckham cancelled designing Nicola’s wedding dress at the “eleventh hour,” forcing her to urgently find an alternative. He also claimed his parents attempted to pressure him into signing away the rights to his name before the wedding, a move he said would have affected his wife and future children.
Brooklyn further accused his family of humiliating behaviour on his wedding day, including claims that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola, leaving him feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable in front of hundreds of guests. He said the couple later renewed their vows in private to reclaim happy memories of their marriage.

As Brooklyn’s allegations dominated headlines, David was seen fulfilling his professional duties in Davos, where nearly 3,000 global leaders, CEOs and public figures have gathered to debate issues ranging from artificial intelligence and economic inequality to geopolitical instability. Despite the weight of the controversy at home, David appeared determined to stay focused on his commitments, even as the personal fallout continued to play out publicly.
