“Dad, Do We Get More Privileges Now?”: Sir David Beckham Reveals His Children Bluntly Asked If They’d Get Extra Perks After His Knighthood — His Brutally Honest Reply Left Them Speechless

Sir David Beckham has lifted the lid on a surprisingly relatable moment inside his famously glamorous family — revealing that his children immediately wondered what they would gain after he received one of Britain’s highest honours.

The football legend, 50, who was knighted by King Charles in recognition of his services to sport and charity, admitted that his kids wasted no time asking if his new title would come with added perks for them.

Speaking candidly on talkSPORT Drive, David recalled the conversation with a smile, explaining that his children asked him outright whether they would now enjoy “any more privileges” following his knighthood. But the answer they got was far from what they expected.

He told them, in no uncertain terms, that apart from the privileges they already had, there would be absolutely no extras.

Despite the humorous exchange, David described receiving the knighthood as one of the most meaningful moments of his life — ranking it alongside the birth of his children and his marriage to wife Victoria Beckham. He shared that the biggest change since becoming “Sir David” was simply the title appearing on his stationery when sending letters.

The honour, awarded at Windsor Castle, was a recognition of his decades-long impact on football as well as his ongoing humanitarian work, particularly his role as a UNICEF ambassador.

However, while much of the Beckham family gathered to celebrate the milestone, the absence of eldest son Brooklyn — amid their ongoing strained relationship — did not go unnoticed.

Elsewhere in the interview, David proudly spoke about his youngest son Cruz, who is carving out his own path in the music industry. Having worked on music since childhood, Cruz has now formed a band, Cruz Beckham and the Breakers, and is touring across the UK and Europe.

David said he was incredibly proud of Cruz’s dedication and hard work, noting how the band has already performed in cities including Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Paris, and Amsterdam, before returning to London for multiple shows.

The proud father also revealed a heartwarming detail about his own mum, Sandra, who has become one of Cruz’s biggest fans — even turning up to his gig, buying merchandise, and asking for an autograph like any other supporter.

But behind the proud family moments lies a more emotional backdrop. During a recent performance, Cruz appeared overwhelmed with emotion while singing a track believed to reference the family’s ongoing rift with Brooklyn.

Struggling to hold back tears on stage, he faltered during the song’s lyrics, which many fans believe subtly allude to the painful distance between the siblings. His bandmate stepped in to comfort him, placing an arm around his shoulder as he continued performing.

The emotional moment struck a chord with the audience — especially as David, Victoria, and Romeo watched on, visibly moved.

The performance came shortly after Brooklyn sparked further tension by publicly praising his mother-in-law on Mother’s Day, while noticeably failing to mention Victoria — adding yet another layer to the family’s increasingly public divide.
