Cruz Beckham has spoken publicly about his fractured relationship with his older brother Brooklyn, revealing that he still hopes the pair can mend their bond despite the ongoing Beckham family feud.
The 21-year-old musician was approached by reporters while out in Paris on Thursday with his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, just a day before his mother Victoria Beckham’s highly anticipated fashion show. When asked whether he had a message for Brooklyn, who celebrated his 27th birthday on Wednesday, Cruz offered a brief but telling response. “Happy birthday,” he said.
Although Cruz declined to answer when asked whether he had recently spoken to his brother, he admitted that he hopes their strained relationship can eventually be repaired.
The Beckham family drama has been simmering for months, with Brooklyn reportedly clashing with his parents David and Victoria Beckham. The situation intensified earlier this week when the couple publicly wished their eldest son a happy birthday on social media.
David shared a childhood photo of Brooklyn, affectionately using his long-time nickname as he wrote that their son had turned 27 and that they loved him dearly. Moments later, Victoria posted the same nostalgic image along with another photo of herself laughing with Brooklyn, adding that she loved him “so much” and accompanying the message with a series of heart emojis.
However, sources close to Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz claim the posts left the couple disappointed. According to insiders, Brooklyn and Nicola had previously asked that all communication with his parents remain private and handled through lawyers following their bitter fallout.
One source explained that Brooklyn and Nicola felt disheartened by the public birthday messages, suggesting that such gestures were exactly the kind of “performative public actions” Brooklyn had hoped to avoid.
Last summer, the couple reportedly sent a legal letter requesting that any future communication from David and Victoria be directed through legal representatives.

She described him as someone who lights up every room he walks into and told him that he was the most special person in her life, adding that she loved being his wife.
Brooklyn quickly replied to the message with a simple declaration of his own: he told Nicola that he loved her.
The actress also appeared to organise an elaborate birthday surprise for her husband, presenting him with a box of twenty-one personalised iced cakes, each decorated with the words “Happy Birthday Brooklyn.”
