Cruz Beckham Appears to ‘Take a Public Swipe’ at Brother Brooklyn, Leaving Fans Surprised

Cruz Beckham has stirred up fresh chatter online after posting a playful cooking video that many fans believe takes a cheeky swipe at his estranged older brother, Brooklyn Beckham.

Brooklyn, 27, has long presented himself as an aspiring chef, regularly sharing clips of himself cooking for fans. He even launched a Facebook series titled Cookin’ with Brooklyn, where he documented his culinary experiments and recipes.

But now it appears his younger brother Cruz, 21, may have stepped into the kitchen — and possibly into the drama as well.

In a TikTok video that quickly grabbed attention, Cruz filmed himself making a bowl of cheese and potato soup topped with crispy bacon bits. The musician jokingly introduced the clip with a tongue-in-cheek caption: “wanna see the best cooking video ever? don’t watch this then.”

Despite proudly presenting his dish, Cruz admitted the result didn’t exactly look appetising. He told viewers the soup might look “gross”, but insisted it was “actually decent”.

Fans immediately began speculating that the video carried a subtle message aimed at Brooklyn. The Beckham family’s ongoing rift has been widely reported, with Brooklyn said to have distanced himself from relatives over the past year.

Commenters flooded Cruz’s post with amused reactions, many interpreting the clip as a sly jab. One fan wrote that Cruz had just earned another supporter, adding that this was exactly the “level of pettiness we should all aspire to”. Another joked that the clip felt “so passive aggressive” and admitted they loved it.

Some even encouraged Cruz to go further. One user suggested he should also film a photography video — a playful nod to Brooklyn’s past attempts at building a career behind the camera.

Another fan joked that Brooklyn might soon send a legal warning over the clip, while someone else wondered which Beckham sibling inherited the family’s sharp sense of humour.

The teasing didn’t stop there. Referencing Brooklyn’s Cloud23 hot sauce brand, one TikTok user suggested Cruz should start selling a spicy sauce to pair with his soup.

Cruz later reposted the video to Instagram, ending it with a casual thumbs-up to the camera. He also tagged celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay in the post with a bold message: “@gordongram watch out!”

Despite the playful tone of the video, Cruz has previously signalled that he hopes to repair his relationship with Brooklyn.

The singer, who is currently touring with his band The Breakers, recently marked his brother’s birthday by sharing a childhood photo of the pair and writing a simple message: “Happy Birthday.”

When asked recently whether he had spoken to Brooklyn, Cruz avoided giving a direct answer but admitted he hoped they would eventually mend their fractured relationship.

The tension between the siblings has been brewing for more than a year. Brooklyn, who is married to actress Nicola Peltz, reportedly told family members he only wishes to communicate through lawyers.

Earlier this year he released a striking statement accusing his family of trying to control him, further deepening the divide within the famous Beckham household.

The situation grew even more awkward when David and Victoria Beckham publicly wished their eldest son a happy birthday on social media — something insiders claim Brooklyn had previously asked them not to do.

David shared a series of childhood photos and used Brooklyn’s nickname as he wrote: “27 today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you x.”

Shortly afterwards, Victoria posted a similar tribute saying: “Happy birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much.”

According to a source, Brooklyn felt those public messages were exactly the kind of performative gestures he had hoped to avoid.
