Amanda Byram has shared the joyful — and emotional — news that she has given birth to her second child, a baby boy named Jett Indy Byram Okines, arriving a full month ahead of schedule.

The 51-year-old TV presenter, best known for her work with the BBC, took to Instagram on February 14 to introduce her newest arrival and reflect on the rollercoaster journey that brought him into the world. Already mum to 3-year-old Phoenix with husband Julian Okines, Amanda called Jett her “second miracle baby” after enduring an exhausting IVF battle to conceive.
“Just like that, we are four,” she wrote. “Jett’s arrival was quite the surprise — my waters broke a month early, and 36 hours later, our little man powered into our lives like he had always been here.”

Amanda opened up about the heartbreak and hope behind her IVF experience. “It was long, exhausting, and utterly devastating at times,” she said. “But I wouldn’t change a thing. It led me to my two incredible boys — one my heart, the other my soul.”
Amanda, who described herself as a “geriatric mum” (a term she says she hates), admitted she was terrified when her waters broke early. But supported by NHS midwives and medical staff, she went through 36 hours of labour — managing a natural birth with just gas and air, after previously needing a C-section for Phoenix.
Despite some complications, including slowed contractions at 10cm, Amanda was determined to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean) and succeeded. “Nature had a way of proving me wrong,” she wrote.
Jett, though tiny, is now “thriving” after spending over a week in hospital. Amanda thanked the entire maternity ward team who supported her through sleepless nights, emotional tears, and her longing for her son Phoenix.
She hopes her story inspires other parents still on their journey: “The odds may be against us, but it can happen.”
