Queen guitarist Brian May has paid a rare and heartfelt tribute to his wife, actress Anita Dobson, following her big win at the British Soap Awards. Anita, 76, took home the Scene of the Year award for her return as Angie Watts in EastEnders — a powerful comeback that brought her iconic character back as a ghost in a dramatic twist.

The 77-year-old rock legend beamed with pride on social media, writing: “Congratulations Anita Dobson!!! My incredibly talented lady wife — winner of the Scene of the Year award — for returning as a ghost from another life to shake the East End one more time!! Massively proud!!! Bri.”
Anita attended the awards ceremony alongside co-star Gillian Taylforth and looked radiant as she accepted the honour. Speaking about the moment, she said it was “just perfect” and hinted that a future return could happen, saying: “Never say never — but it would have to be something extra special.”

The rare public praise comes after a challenging year for the couple. Brian suffered a sudden stroke last September and had to be rushed to hospital after losing control of his arm. Anita later spoke openly about the terrifying ordeal, and how the health scare reminded them to “take nothing for granted.”
Now, with Anita’s acting celebrated and Brian back on his feet, the couple is once again inspiring fans with their enduring love and mutual support.
