Adam Thomas breaks down in tears and admits he is “not a good husband and not a great dad” — despite living what he describes as “a perfect life”

Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas has opened his heart in an emotional confession, breaking down in tears as he admitted he sometimes feels like he’s “not a great dad” and “not a good husband” — despite living what he calls a “perfect life”.

The actor, 36, became visibly emotional while speaking on his podcast At Home With The Thomas Bros, which he hosts alongside his brothers Scott and Ryan Thomas. During the candid conversation, Adam revealed he struggles with self-belief and often feels overwhelmed by guilt about how fortunate his life is.

He admitted that even walking through his home can trigger a wave of conflicting emotions.

Adam said there are moments when he walks downstairs and thinks, “f***ing hell, I’m so grateful, I’m so lucky,” but those feelings quickly turn into guilt. He explained that he often asks himself: “Why do I deserve this? Why do I deserve a beautiful wife? Why do I deserve this perfect family?”

The emotional confession left Adam fighting back tears as he reflected on his internal struggles with confidence.

The TV star has been married to wife Caroline Daly since 2017. Together they share two children — son Teddy, 11, and daughter Elsie, seven — and appear to have built a loving family life.

Yet Adam confessed that self-doubt still lingers beneath the surface.

He explained that the one thing he constantly feels he is chasing is confidence and self-belief. Despite the life he has built, Adam admitted that he sometimes feels he’s “no good” at things.

The actor said he often questions himself and falls into a cycle of overthinking, adding that he sometimes tells himself he isn’t good at anything. Adam revealed that in his darkest moments he worries he’s “not a good friend, not a good husband, and sometimes not a great dad.”

He also admitted that the same encouragement he gives others is something he struggles to give himself.

Adam explained that he is always the person lifting other people up, praising them and telling them how great they are — yet he rarely shows that same kindness to himself.

A short clip from the emotional podcast episode was later shared on TikTok, where fans quickly flooded the comments with messages of support.

One viewer wrote that moments like this were exactly why they had so much respect and love for Adam. Another said seeing him cry was heartbreaking, insisting he deserved everything he has achieved.

Others echoed the sentiment, telling the actor he deserved the world and reminding him that he had worked hard for everything in his life.

Adam is also set to return to the jungle when I’m A Celebrity… All Stars comes back for its second series. Fans will see him head to South Africa to take on the show’s infamous trials once again.

The actor first appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2016, where he became known as “Mr Bushtucker Trial” thanks to his willingness to take on some of the toughest challenges.

This time he’ll be competing alongside a star-studded line-up including former champions Harry Redknapp and Scarlett Moffatt, as well as Beverley Callard, Gemma Collins, Jimmy Bullard, Seann Walsh, David Haye, Sir Mo Farah, Ashley Roberts, Sinitta and Craig Charles.
