Tana Ramsay is reportedly embarking on a remarkable new chapter in her life after enrolling at a London university to train as a midwife.
The 51-year-old author and television personality — who shares six children with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, 59 — is said to have the full backing of her family as she pursues a career devoted to helping mothers through childbirth.

Tana and Gordon are parents to Megan, 27, twins Holly and Jack, 26, Tilly, 24, six-year-old Oscar and two-year-old Jesse. Despite her busy family life and previous work in television and publishing, those close to her say the move into midwifery feels like a natural fit.
Friends and family reportedly believe her caring nature makes her perfectly suited to the profession. One insider explained that Tana’s past experience as a nursery school teacher, combined with her compassionate personality, makes her the kind of person anyone would want by their side in the delivery room.
The source said she used to be a nursery school teacher and is a fantastic, kind and empathetic mum and friend, adding that Tana is exactly the sort of person you would want supporting you during childbirth. They also said midwifery feels like the perfect match for her and that she is embracing the challenge while hoping to give back by supporting other mothers.

Her husband Gordon and their children are reportedly thrilled about the decision. According to the source, the family “couldn’t be more supportive or proud of her” as she pursues the demanding training.
Representatives for Tana have been contacted for comment.
The update about her new career path comes at a time when the Ramsay family has also been making headlines for other reasons.
Gordon recently revealed that Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty — who married the couple’s daughter Holly — has begun calling him “Dad”, a revelation that intensified the already bitter rift between Adam and his own family.
The Peaty family feud erupted after it emerged that Adam, 31, had banned his parents Caroline and Mark, along with other relatives, from attending his wedding to Holly in December.
The situation escalated further when Caroline’s sister, Louise Williams, publicly criticised the swimmer in a furious social media rant. She accused him of forgetting the sacrifices his parents made during his rise to Olympic success.
Louise wrote that Adam’s father had worked his hands raw and bleeding to fund his swimming career before sponsorships arrived, describing his long days as a bricklayer doing exhausting, back-breaking work without complaint.
She also criticised Adam for what she described as “toadying behaviour” toward Gordon Ramsay and accused him of treating his own parents badly.
In her emotional posts, Louise said she had tears in her eyes as she wrote about the sacrifices made by Adam’s father and questioned why he now credited others — including his coach and Gordon — for shaping the man he has become.
The tensions have also spilled over into the Ramsays’ new six-part Netflix documentary, which follows Gordon as he opens new restaurants at Bishopsgate in London.
The series includes a brief glimpse of Holly and Adam’s engagement celebration. Before its release, Adam’s mother Caroline reportedly demanded that she be removed from the footage, although she still appears briefly in one scene.
Despite the family drama unfolding in public, Tana’s reported decision to train as a midwife signals a deeply personal and positive new direction — one that those closest to her say reflects her lifelong passion for supporting families and caring for others.
