Abi Phillips, known for playing Liberty Savage on Hollyoaks, has married her long-term partner Gav in a breathtaking ceremony at Italy’s Lake Garda—three years after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
The couple, who got engaged at the same scenic spot in 2023, exchanged vows surrounded by close family and friends. Abi, now 30, shared glimpses of the celebration on Instagram, from lighthearted pre-wedding moments in casual clothes to the romantic ceremony itself, where she dazzled in an elegant gown.
Reflecting on the day, Abi wrote: “I can’t quite believe I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life, surrounded by all the most important people in our lives in our dream venues… Gav, we bloody did it!”
She described the celebration as “the best type of rollercoaster” and thanked those who travelled to Italy to witness the special moment, calling the experience “truly unforgettable.”
The former soap star also paid tribute to the wedding suppliers, who she said “now feel like family.”

Abi and Gav’s engagement in 2023 came just months after she revealed her shocking cancer diagnosis. But, following her instincts—and inspired by Love Island star Demi Jones’ similar story—she sought further tests, which confirmed thyroid cancer.
She underwent surgery and radiotherapy, bravely sharing her journey online to raise awareness.
Now, standing on the shores of Lake Garda once more—but this time in a wedding dress—Abi has closed one emotional chapter and begun another, filled with love, resilience, and joy.
