Eamonn Holmes has made a rare and thoughtful reflection on relationships following his separation from long-time partner Ruth Langsford. In a candid conversation on GB News with co-host Ellie Costello, the 65-year-old presenter opened up about what he believes creates a “happy relationship”—hinting that shared values may be more important than just attraction.

After ending his 14-year relationship with Ruth last year, Eamonn has largely kept quiet about his personal life. The pair reportedly drifted apart due to diverging career paths and increasing time apart. Now, the former This Morning host is in a new relationship with 42-year-old counsellor Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior.
Eamonn and Katie’s romance became public last year when they were seen together on a Mediterranean cruise and spotted at several events. According to insiders, their bond has strengthened, especially amid Eamonn’s serious health challenges. Katie is said to be deeply caring, especially as Eamonn struggles with mobility issues following a series of spinal problems and surgeries.

During a segment on GB News, Eamonn asked Ellie Costello whether political or religious alignment played a role in her attraction to her partner. Ellie responded with humor, saying she was first struck by his height and looks, but admitted that sharing similar politics has made life easier.

Eamonn agreed, sharing, “Any partners I’ve ever had in life, I haven’t deliberately gone looking for it, but I think they think the same as me.”
His comments come amid ongoing concern over his health. Eamonn has admitted to living in pain since slipping three discs in 2021 and undergoing surgery in 2022. He recently said he feels like he’s on “borrowed time” and is “not OK,” but continues to remain active on television and in his new relationship.
