Victoria Beckham proved she hasn’t lost her sense of humour after delivering a hilarious speech while celebrating husband David Beckham’s Hollywood Walk of Fame honour in Los Angeles.
The former Spice Girl, 52, had the audience in stitches when she jokingly suggested she had expected to receive a star herself – not for fashion or music, but for her role in the famously panned 1997 film Spice World: The Movie.
Speaking on stage during Friday’s ceremony, Victoria quipped: “Growing up in England, the Hollywood Walk of Fame was one of those iconic things that you only saw in films – a way of immortalizing people who had succeeded in their fields and truly left their mark.”
She then added with perfect comic timing: “So naturally, I assumed I was coming here today to receive my star for my part in that iconic cult classic Spice World: The Movie!”

Her self-deprecating joke sparked laughter among guests gathered to watch David, 51, receive one of Hollywood’s most prestigious honours.
After the light-hearted moment, Victoria delivered an emotional tribute to her husband of 27 years, praising the qualities that have defined him both publicly and privately.
“Most of you will know David as a sportsman, a businessman and an activist, but behind those titles is a man who has always been defined by his character,” she said.
“His drive, his determination and his ambition are known to everyone, but I’d also like to acknowledge his kindness, his loyalty and his commitment to the people that he loves.”
The touching speech was followed by a romantic moment as Victoria affectionately grabbed David’s face and kissed him in front of the crowd.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise, one of the Beckham family’s closest friends, also paid tribute to the football icon.
“Long before the trophies, the sold-out stadiums, the global fame, the recognition, there was a young boy with a dream, and the determination and discipline to earn everything that followed,” the actor said.
According to insiders, having Tom speak at the ceremony marked a full-circle moment for David, who has enjoyed a close friendship with the Mission: Impossible star since moving to Los Angeles in 2007 after joining LA Galaxy.
The ceremony was attended by Victoria, sons Romeo and Cruz, daughter Harper, and family friend Eva Longoria. However, eldest son Brooklyn Beckham was notably absent, despite living only around 20 minutes away with wife Nicola Peltz in Beverly Hills.

David, who was honoured in the Sports Entertainment category, said receiving a star was something he never imagined when he began his career.
“All I wanted to be was a successful soccer player for Manchester United and England. That’s all I cared about,” he told Variety.
“I didn’t care about the fame, the wealth, all the admiration you get. All I cared about was being a soccer player.”
Reflecting on his extraordinary journey, he added: “So now, having a star, becoming a ‘Sir,’ all these things that have come with the career that I’ve had, I feel very lucky.”
