Jeff Brazier could be the latest celebrity heading to the famous ballroom, with reports claiming the presenter has been approached by BBC bosses to join the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The 47-year-old TV personality is said to be seriously considering the opportunity, three years after his son Bobby Brazier captured viewers’ hearts during his impressive run to the 2023 final alongside professional dancer Dianne Buswell.
According to insiders, Jeff previously avoided taking part in the show because he did not want to overshadow Bobby’s experience. However, with several years having passed since his son’s successful stint, he is now reportedly much more open to stepping onto the dancefloor himself.
A source revealed: “Jeff was approached by the Beeb about taking part in Strictly this year and he is tempted.”
The insider added: “He has discussed it with Bobby who thinks it would be amazing if his dad was to give it a go. Jeff has yet to sign his contract but everyone around him is urging him to do it.”
Jeff was one of Bobby’s biggest supporters during the young actor’s journey on the show, regularly cheering him on from the audience as he progressed all the way to the final.
The possible signing comes during a major period of change for Strictly Come Dancing. The beloved BBC competition is preparing for a fresh chapter after long-serving hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepped down at the end of last year.
Earlier this month, the BBC confirmed that Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe will take over presenting duties for the 2026 series.
Speaking about her new role, Emma admitted she was overwhelmed by the opportunity, saying: “It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Strictly – I’ve cheered and danced along from my sofa for years – so to be stepping into the Strictly ballroom is something I can’t quite comprehend.”
She also paid tribute to her predecessors, adding: “It’s impossible to fill the shoes that Tess and Claudia have left behind – two wonderful, iconic women who have been the beating heart of Strictly for so long.”
Meanwhile, comedian Josh Widdicombe joked that competing on the show’s Christmas special remained a career highlight. “Dancing the Charleston dressed as a penguin for the 2024 Christmas Special of Strictly remains my career high point,” he said.
Professional dancer Johannes Radebe described becoming a host as “beyond anything I ever imagined,” adding that the show has always stood for “joy, heart, and togetherness.”
Away from television, Jeff has experienced a turbulent year personally. He recently embraced life as a grandfather after his son Freddie welcomed a baby daughter named Isla, while he also separated from wife Kate after seven years of marriage.
If Jeff does decide to sign on the dotted line, viewers could soon see another member of the Brazier family attempting to win over Strictly fans — this time with Bobby cheering from the sidelines.
