Katie Price has found herself at the centre of another family row after her sister Sophie revealed that their mother, Amy Price, was left furious over a song Katie originally recorded as a special gift for her.
The drama unfolded after Katie shared a cover version of the classic song Get Here during the recent controversy surrounding her husband Lee Andrews, who had been reported missing before later making contact. At the time, Katie explained that the emotional track reflected her feelings about being separated from Lee and dedicated it to him on social media.
However, speaking on The Katie Price Show podcast, Sophie disclosed that the song had initially been presented to their mother as a personal gift.
The recording came about while Katie was working on music for an upcoming single. During a break in the session, she decided to record Get Here because it had long been a favourite song within the family.
Katie had even told her mother that the recording was specifically for her. Recalling the situation, Katie admitted: “I did it for mum. I said to mum, ‘I know you love this song’.”
But the gesture quickly took an unexpected turn when Katie later uploaded the song online and publicly dedicated it to Lee amid the ongoing drama surrounding his disappearance.
According to Sophie, the change of heart did not go down well with Amy.
Sophie explained: “She was so p***ed off right because you put that Reel up. Kate called mum and was like, ‘I’ve been in the studio and made this song for you’. Then Kate put it up on Instagram and was like, ‘Oh it’s for Lee and for the situation’.”
Katie defended the decision, explaining that the lyrics suddenly felt relevant to what she was experiencing with her husband.
She said: “I thought, do you know what, these words actually resonate with what’s going on. So then I put it up for Lee.”
The reality star added that lines from the song, including “You can reach me by sailboat, you can reach me on an airplane”, felt particularly meaningful given the uncertainty surrounding Lee’s whereabouts at the time.
The revelation is the latest twist in the ongoing saga involving Katie and Lee, which has dominated headlines in recent weeks. While Katie viewed the song as a fitting tribute to her husband during a difficult period, it appears her mother felt a deeply personal gift had been unexpectedly repurposed, leaving family tensions simmering behind the scenes.
