Loose Women Faces Fierce Backlash After Panel Gush Over Venezuela Fury’s Wedding: ‘Are We Really Celebrating Child Marriage?’

Loose Women has found itself at the centre of a growing backlash after its panel appeared to gush over Venezuela Fury’s lavish wedding — despite viewers questioning whether a 16-year-old bride should be celebrated on daytime television.

Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore and Oti Mabuse were discussing the daughter of Tyson and Paris Fury after she married 19-year-old Noah Price in a spectacular Isle of Man ceremony over the weekend.

Christine described it as “the big wedding of the year so far,” before adding: “Venezuela Fury, daughter of Tyson and Paris, of course, walked down the aisle at the weekend and said, I do to new husband Noah Price.”

The panel then spoke about the grand details of the day, including reports of 120 guests, grazing platters, macarons, fresh fruit, champagne, a harpist, 5,000 roses and hydrangeas, a ballroom transformation and even a performance from Peter Andre.

Christine was clearly impressed, telling viewers: “Incredible, incredible pictures and videos coming out of that. It really was a proper spectacular.”

Coleen agreed, saying: “It really was,” while Christine added: “It was an event, wasn’t it, for the whole of the families. I mean, I loved watching At Home With The Furys. They’re just great. So yes, good luck to all of them.”

But not everyone shared the panel’s excitement.

Viewers quickly took to X to question the tone of the segment, with one person fuming: “Are we all living in a parallel universe to daytime ITV presenters? There’s nothing glitzy or glamorous about a kid getting married.”

Another asked bluntly: “Are we really celebrating child marriage?”

A third viewer claimed: “If it was council estate parents, they’d get reported to Social Services!”

Others admitted the bride was “very young” to be getting married, though one viewer added that it was part of “their family tradition.”

The backlash comes as Venezuela and Noah’s wedding continues to dominate showbiz headlines, with the teenage bride reportedly preparing to swap her family mansion for life in Noah’s caravan after the ceremony.

What Loose Women framed as a glamorous family celebration has now sparked a much sharper debate — not about flowers, champagne or famous guests, but about whether daytime TV should have questioned the age of the bride before praising the spectacle.
