“I Left BBC Radio 2… And Still Didn’t Get The Job!” Zoe Ball Has Finally Broken Her Silence After Admitting She Lost Out On The Strictly Come Dancing Hosting Role And Has Been “Going Through The Seven Stages Of Grief And Rejection.” Zoe Confirmed She Did Audition And Made It To The Final Round — And Her Reaction To Being Rejected By The BBC Has Left Fans Stunned

Zoe Ball has finally opened up after missing out on one of the biggest jobs on British television — and her emotional reaction has left fans stunned.

The beloved presenter, who had long been tipped as a frontrunner to replace departing Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, admitted she was devastated after failing to land the role. Speaking candidly on her Dig It podcast with Jo Whiley, Zoe confessed she has been “working through the seven stages of grief and rejection” since learning the BBC had chosen someone else.

Although she tried to remain upbeat, Zoe’s disappointment was impossible to hide as she revealed: “I didn’t get it, but it’s OK.”

The former It Takes Two host explained that despite the heartbreak, she still believes the BBC made “the right decision” and insisted she is genuinely happy for the stars who secured the coveted presenting spots.

She said: “If who I think has got it, we’re in safe hands and our new hosts are going to be fabulous. I’m so thrilled for them.”

Zoe also admitted she felt honoured simply to be considered for the role, especially after fierce competition from some of television’s biggest names.

“I was so chuffed to even be in the mix,” she explained. “There were some pretty amazing people who didn’t even make it into the mix.”

Behind the scenes, the battle to become the new face of Strictly is said to have become incredibly intense, with shortlisted celebrities reportedly undergoing chemistry tests, dress rehearsals and secret auditions under strict BBC NDAs.

According to insiders, not everyone handled the rejection well.

One source claimed: “One big star who was tipped from day one has been sobbing about it — they were convinced the job was theirs for the taking.”

Meanwhile, Emma Willis is now believed to be the leading choice to front the new era of Strictly after reportedly “absolutely nailing” the chemistry tests.

Insiders say BBC bosses see Emma as “a safe pair of hands” capable of steering the iconic show into its next chapter following the shock departures of Tess and Claudia.

A source said: “Emma has been offered the Strictly job and is going to accept. She absolutely nailed the chemistry tests and the BBC adore her.”

While the BBC has yet to officially confirm the new presenting line-up, the drama surrounding the replacement process has already become one of the biggest entertainment stories of the year.

And despite her heartbreak, Zoe appeared determined to end things gracefully — proving exactly why so many viewers believed she would have been perfect for the ballroom.
