Paloma Faith has opened up in raw, emotional detail about her breastfeeding journey, revealing how drastically different her experience has been after welcoming her third child.
The 44-year-old singer, who is a mum to two daughters aged nine and five and a baby son born in March, took to Instagram to share a deeply personal reflection — one that resonated with mothers everywhere.

She admitted that while feeding her newborn son has been far smoother, her earlier experiences were anything but easy.
“I’ve had three babies now. This one is BY FAR the easiest one to breast feed,” she wrote candidly, adding that her journey has taught her an important lesson: “We should stop blaming ourselves for everything that may succeed or not.”
Looking back, Paloma didn’t hold back about the pain she endured with her first child. She said it “hurt like mad” and revealed she pushed through seven gruelling months, driven by pressure and determination.

Her second child brought a completely different struggle. She explained that the baby had difficulty coordinating breathing and swallowing, often crying at the breast. As a result, Paloma exclusively pumped milk for three months before deciding to stop — a decision she described as “liberating”.
This time around, however, things changed dramatically.
Her baby son “latched immediately,” she shared, saying he instinctively knew what to do. While she still experienced soreness and moments where she “wanted to cry,” she persevered — and now says things are “relatively ok.”

Paloma also offered a glimpse into her current routine, revealing she takes supplements to maintain milk supply, feeds every four hours, and pumps twice daily. She also supplements with formula to ensure flexibility if needed.
Importantly, she addressed the pressure many women feel to “bounce back” quickly after giving birth.
“I am not ‘bouncing back’ super fast because I don’t think that would be too good for my milk production and frankly haven’t I been through enough already?” she joked.
Ending her heartfelt post with a powerful message of solidarity, Paloma praised all mothers — regardless of their feeding journey.
“I just wanted to shout out to the mums who manage to do it well and the ones who can’t because I’ve been both… it’s not just you… there are so many other factors.”
Her honest words struck a chord, reminding women everywhere that motherhood is rarely straightforward — and never something to measure in success or failure.
