TWO YEARS, TWO DEVASTATING DIAGNOSES… AND NOW THIS: Davina McCall Tearfully Announces She Is Cancer-Free After an Emotional Journey — Just One Year Earlier, She Underwent a Six-Hour Brain Surgery for a “Three-in-a-Million” Tumour

Davina McCall has shared an emotional and deeply personal health update, revealing she has officially been given the all-clear from breast cancer following months of treatment.

The 58-year-old presenter opened up on her podcast Making The Cut, which she hosts alongside her husband Michael Douglas, describing the moment she received the life-changing news after a recent hospital check-up.

She admitted it had been a “quite serious day” filled with tension, before delivering the words she had been hoping for: it was all clear, just letting everyone know — good news, good news.

Davina’s diagnosis came late last year after she discovered a lump while working on The Masked Singer UK. She underwent a lumpectomy in October, followed by a short course of preventative radiotherapy in January, which she described as an “insurance policy” to stop the cancer from returning.

Despite the heavy emotional weight of the check-up, Davina revealed an unexpected moment of joy during her hospital visit. She explained how using a quirky “credit card wand” she had bought online turned the tense situation into something surprisingly light-hearted, saying the moment had people around her laughing — and helped lift her own spirits too.

Her journey has been anything but easy. Just a year before her cancer diagnosis, Davina underwent major brain surgery to remove a rare benign tumour — a colloid cyst described as “three in a million.” The six-hour operation left her dealing with memory struggles and emotional recovery.

Reflecting on the timing of her health battles, she previously admitted it felt like being punched in the face by the universe, as both diagnoses came almost exactly two years apart.

She also spoke candidly about the emotional toll, revealing that while she initially tried to stay positive, it was her husband who encouraged her to face her anger. He told her that if she felt angry, it was okay — and that permission led to a cathartic release, as she admitted punching pillows helped her process everything.

Davina credited early detection for her recovery, explaining the cancer was caught very early, with clear margins and no spread to her lymph nodes — a crucial factor in her positive outcome.

The presenter has since become a vocal advocate for breast awareness, revealing she was prompted to check herself after seeing reminders in the ITV studios from Lorraine Kelly urging women to “check your breasts.”

Now, after months of fear, treatment, and emotional healing, Davina is finally able to share the news she — and her loved ones — have been waiting for.
