Helen Flanagan has opened up about a terrifying health scare — revealing she’s allergic to cherries after suffering a sudden reaction that left her lips numb and her face visibly swollen.
The Coronation Street actress and mum-of-three shared the ordeal on Instagram, posting a raw, makeup-free video just hours after picking up her kids from school. In the clip, she recounted how a simple moment in the garden turned into something far more serious.
“I just had one cherry, and straight away my throat started itching,” she said, coughing as she rubbed her neck. “My lips felt numb, and really, really swollen. I never knew I was allergic to cherries.”
Helen’s visibly irritated face and swollen lips were shown in the video, with fans praising her honesty and vulnerability.
The allergy revelation comes just weeks after her public split from ex-partner, footballer Robbie Talbot, marking another tough chapter for the 33-year-old.
Despite the recent challenges, Helen isn’t shying away from the spotlight. In a recent interview, she revealed she’s setting her sights on Strictly Come Dancing. “I’d love all the dressing up,” she said. “I don’t know how great I’d be, but I know I’d work hard.”
