Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has fiercely denied explosive claims made by her son’s ex-girlfriend, as a bitter family feud spills into the public eye with deeply personal accusations.
The drama erupted after Emma Kivell, the former partner of Coleen’s son Shane Nolan, accused the TV presenter of being a “cruel bully” and alleged she had been subjected to vicious verbal attacks. Emma claimed she was called “every name under the sun,” including being branded a “jealous b***h,” describing the experience as “vile.”
Emma and Shane first met in 2015 and welcomed their daughter, Amelia-Rose, the following year. Although they were never in a committed relationship, Shane reportedly promised to support Emma as a single mother — with Coleen even present at the birth, initially showing strong family support.
However, according to Emma, that support didn’t last. She alleged that Coleen later distanced herself, even refusing to visit Amelia-Rose because she was “not willing to go to my house,” a situation Emma says contributed to her suffering a breakdown.
But Coleen has now hit back through a spokesperson, firmly rejecting the allegations. Her representative stated that she “strongly disputes the allegations, which are inaccurate and misleading,” adding that the claims lack proper context and stem from “a contested private family matter.” The statement also stressed that it is inappropriate to publicly discuss such issues, especially when a child is involved.
The feud appears to have been simmering for years. It was previously reported that Coleen had not seen her granddaughter for nearly seven years, while tensions between both sides have repeatedly played out on social media.
Shane himself has also been drawn into the dispute. In September, he insisted online that he had always paid child maintenance, telling followers: “I would never not pay. We miss her and can’t wait for one day for her to be in our lives.”
Emma, however, strongly disputed this, claiming he had made little effort to be involved in their daughter’s life. She alleged that he “never asked how she is, how she’s doing, if she needs anything,” and claimed financial support had only resumed due to court enforcement.
Further accusations emerged as Emma claimed Shane had breached court orders, which she said led to restrictions on him seeing Amelia-Rose. She also criticised the wider Nolan family, saying her daughter did not need “pettiness” or “toxicity” from their side.
Despite the ongoing conflict, Coleen has previously spoken warmly about becoming a grandmother. Reflecting on the unexpected arrival of Amelia-Rose, she admitted: “They got together one night and there you go.” She added that while she had hoped for a loving relationship between the parents, she was ultimately “thrilled” to become a grandmother.
