JJ Slater appears to be putting his painful split from Katie Price behind him after being spotted enjoying a glamorous getaway with tattooed model Rachel Alexandra in Florida.
The former Married At First Sight UK star, 33, has been staying at the lavish Don CeSar hotel as he takes time to rebuild following the end of his relationship with the former glamour model. And judging by the latest photos from his sunshine break, JJ looks to be in a much happier place.
He has been sharing glimpses of his trip on social media, including snaps of himself relaxing on a yacht with Rachel. In one image, JJ was seen holding a red cup while soaking up the sun, while another showed beautician Rachel posing on the luxury boat in a bikini, her hair tied back in a silk scarf.
Rachel’s identity was first revealed after JJ’s shock split from Katie, and the pair seem to have more in common than just their chemistry.
Following the breakup, JJ previously told The Sun that he had leaned heavily on his faith to help him through the difficult chapter in his life. He said: “I feel like God’s taking me out of a negative situation and that allows something positive and beautiful to come into my life, so walking in faith really, just the understanding that God’s got a plan and out here rebuilding myself.”
That spiritual connection may also be something he shares with Rachel, who references the Bible verse Romans 12:2 in her Instagram bio — a verse urging believers not to conform to the world, but to be transformed through renewed thinking.
JJ had earlier spoken candidly about the abrupt and painful way his romance with Katie came to an end. Recalling the moment everything changed, he said: “We’re just sitting on the sofa watching TV.
“Everything seemed good, to be honest, and then it was probably three or four days into the new year that the conversation kind of just happened where all of a sudden Kate said that she doesn’t love me or is not in love with me anymore.
“Obviously when someone says that to you you have no choice but to pack up and leave, and that’s exactly what I did.”
JJ and Katie had been together for around two years before their relationship collapsed. But what made the breakup even more shocking was how quickly Katie moved on.
Just weeks after ending things with JJ, Katie began a whirlwind romance with Lee Andrews. He proposed on January 23, and the pair went on to marry in Dubai just 48 hours later.
Despite Katie and Lee presenting a loved-up front online, Lee later appeared to take a pointed swipe at JJ in a social media post that Katie proudly reposted.
The quote shared by Lee read: “When she realised she went from a little man that would NOT defend her in any room. To a man who will look you dead in the eyes and say ‘go ahead and say some disrespectful s*** about her, and see what happens…’.”
Katie then added her own gushing message as she reshared it, writing: “That’s my man @wesleeandrews.”
Now, while Katie continues to flaunt her new marriage, JJ seems to be quietly moving forward in his own way — with Rachel Alexandra by his side and a fresh chapter unfolding in the Florida sun.
