“I Do NOT Hate Fans Or Children!”: Chappell Roan Breaks Silence After 11-Year-Old Fan Left In Tears — As She Apologises To Jude Law’s Daughter And Denies Ordering Security Confrontation

Chappell Roan has issued a heartfelt apology to Jude Law’s young daughter after a shocking incident involving a security guard allegedly left the 11-year-old in tears — but the singer insists she had no part in what happened.

The controversy erupted after footballer Jorginho took to Instagram to accuse the singer’s team of confronting his stepdaughter — believed to be Ada, the daughter of actress Catherine Harding and Hollywood star Jude Law — during a hotel breakfast encounter.

According to Jorginho, the young girl had simply been excited to spot the Pink Pony Club hitmaker at the same hotel in São Paulo. He claimed she didn’t approach the singer, but merely walked past, smiled, and returned to her table — only for a security guard to allegedly intervene in what he described as an “extremely aggressive” manner.

He wrote that his daughter was left “extremely shaken” and “in tears,” adding that the situation was “completely disproportionate” and deeply upsetting for the family.

But Roan has now publicly shared her side of the story, firmly denying any involvement.

Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, she said she had no idea the interaction even took place. She explained, “I didn’t even see a woman and a child. No one came up to me, no one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast at my hotel.”

The singer stressed that the guard in question was not her personal security and insisted she never asked anyone to approach the family. She said, “I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not. It’s unfair for security to assume someone has bad intentions when nothing has happened.”

In a direct apology, Roan added that she was saddened by the incident, saying, “I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children — that is crazy. I am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something. If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”

Despite the apology, the fallout has continued to grow.

Ada’s mother later revealed that the young girl was so affected by the ordeal that she chose to skip Roan’s performance later that evening. Instead, the pair opted for a “girls day” shopping and dinner, sharing that everything was now “all is well” after receiving supportive messages.

Jorginho, however, did not hold back in his criticism. In a strongly worded statement, he argued that fans are the foundation of any artist’s success and condemned the treatment of his daughter, stating that no child should ever be made to feel that way.

The situation quickly went viral, sparking widespread debate online — and even drawing an unexpected response from Rio de Janeiro’s deputy mayor Eduardo Cavaliere, who publicly declared that Roan would not be welcome to perform at a major city event under his leadership. He also invited the young girl to attend as a special guest instead.

The incident has reignited discussion around celebrity boundaries and fan interactions — a topic Roan herself has addressed in the past. During a previous surge in fame, she spoke out against what she described as “creepy” and invasive behaviour, insisting that fame should not erase personal boundaries.

Now, with emotions running high on both sides, the question remains: was this a simple misunderstanding — or a moment that highlights the fragile line between fame and fandom?
