*Before he reached the finish line it was revealed Greg James has raised over £3.3 million.
But since completing his Comic Relief challenge that figure has since increased to a whopping £4,041,910!

Greg James has officially completed his brutal 1,000km Red Nose Day charity cycling challenge — and the moment was made even more powerful by heartfelt praise from Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy.
The Radio 1 presenter, 40, crossed the finish line in Edinburgh after eight gruelling days on a tandem bike, raising a staggering £3.3million for Comic Relief in the process. What began as a physical test quickly became one of the most emotional charity journeys in recent years.

As Greg approached the final stretch, Sir Chris Hoy shared a moving message that captured just how remarkable the achievement truly was.
He said: “I just want to send you a very quick message to say well done on all you’ve achieved so far. You’ve done an amazing job and you’re almost there. Just know that tomorrow you’re not going to have to sit on that saddle again and you’re going to have such support coming into Edinburgh – that’s my hometown! I know that people are going to get right behind you and cheer you in.”
Those words rang true as Greg was welcomed into the Scottish capital by crowds of supporters, bringing an emotional end to a journey that had pushed him to his absolute limits.
Reflecting on the challenge after completing the full 1,000km route, Greg admitted: “It’s been one of the most incredible weeks of my life – I’ll never, ever forget it.”

Earlier, during the final leg, he had shared how much the public support meant to him, saying: “I do feel all the listeners are on this seat behind me. It’s been a very, very, very, very special eight days of my life that I’ve really, really needed. Everyone just came together and did a fun thing this week.”
The achievement is even more poignant given the personal heartbreak Greg has faced. Earlier this month, his father Alan suffered a stroke during a planned heart operation — news that cast a shadow over the challenge.
Despite that, Greg pressed on, transforming the ride into a deeply personal mission that resonated with millions across the UK.

The £3.3million raised will go towards vital causes supported by Comic Relief, including providing food for children, funding emergency supplies, supporting domestic abuse helplines and helping homeless young people find shelter.
But beyond the numbers, Greg’s journey has become something far bigger — a story of resilience, unity and determination, capped off with recognition from one of Britain’s greatest sporting icons.
